We are in need of a nice Cowl Screen for a 1970 Skylark/GS Must be in decent shape. These can carefully be rolled up a tad to fit in a box that's around 14" x 14" x 14". That slight curve will allow them to fit in that size box without kinking the screen. I know these are reproduced but we have no desire to utilize the reproductions for this project. If you have one let me know . . . . Thanks!
Let me know on it Bruno! We need one! Also, check to see if you have a box that it will fit nicely in though!!! 14 x 14 x 14 works good! .
Hence my overall feeling, w/very few exceptions (mostly stuff guys on here have stepped up to make), towards repro parts. If they can't make a flat piece of screen correctly... Since you have the ear of these companies, I'd gladly pay more for them to make the stuff correctly but until then, unless absolutely necessary, I'll keep buying nice used & NOS when available/affordable. I'd love to be able to just order parts w/o fear but we've all had the experience of going to install that repro part we bought months or years ago just to have is not fit properly or look right.
Yup, the aftermarket world is "Hit & Miss". I stay away from the stuff that shouldn't even be on the market. . . . . Cowl Screens being one of them. They're sooo far off. . . .
Repros? Who repros the screen version? I know they make those 3 piece plastic insert thingies but never seen the 69-70 (68 too?) screen version from any aftermarket supplier.
