willow front1.jpg Hello folks. Just saying Hi. I recently rescued a Jeep Wagoneer and want to restore it to a daily driver. Any help is appreciated. It took my 2 days to figure out where the PCV valve was....ha ha. I am not familiar with the Buick at all. I love the design of it and so far all I have done is rebuild the Rochester 2 Jet. She has been named Willow. It has been at the transmission shop to fix the leaks from the hot days in Arizona. I am in Lake of the Ozarks.

    Nice - Welcome. My 1st vehicle when I was 16 (1983) was a '70 Wagoneer.

Awesome. The 70 is an odd year where Kaiser Jeep was bought by AMC, so the razor grill was a very short lived grill in 70. AMC changed it part way into the year. Almost ALL of the 70 ads show the newer model cheese grater grill. There were only a couple months of the 1970 Wagoneer with the razor grill. The wife wanted this specific combination. Took some time, but we finally found it and drug it over 1500 miles home. Now it's time to fix all of the issues and get it on the road.

Mine had that same grille and the Kaiser-Jeep tag under the hood - I didn’t realize that was a mid-year change. It also had buckets/console & all the stainless trim which I unsis also pretty rare.

If you has the buckets and center console, you had the last of the Super Wagoneers. Rare as hen's teeth. Serial number would have started our 1414X....mine is a 1414C which is the custom model, so it had a upgraded bench seats and deluxe interior. There are a few Super Wagoneers around but you might as well buy gold. All the trims are stainless. Most people think they are chrome but they aren't. They can really be polished up nice. I am missing my piece above the windshield. Probably never find it and will have to buy the entire set if I want it on there. It just traps water and makes rust. I might leave it off when I replace the windshield.

I hung these in my dad’s assisted living room. We found the 3D drawings in one of his toolboxes. Don’t know where he got them.

Those are awesome ! I love the old ads. We have 3 of them that show the 69/70 from magazines. I tried to bring Willow home from the transmission shop tonight and stopped for some gas. Got lots of looks.....it is in rough shape still. Unfortunately we didn't make it home and had to be towed to finish the journey. Overheated. I'm exhausted....

You’ve got a great looking Jeep, keep at it and you’ll get it back in smooth driving order!

Thanks. This is my last Jeep rescue. It is for my wife. My health is poor as I am disabled now. She will have this way after I am gone. I just hope I get it all done before I am. I love these old metal beasts. She does too.

If I'd realized at the time just how rare it was maybe I'd have hung onto it. Had what I assume was optional 3.73 posi as well. Hopefully it's still out there somewhere.

I hope that you will have enough strength to restore it. Where are you planning to start with this build? Are you planning to replace its wheels and tires? I am excited to see how you will give life to this classic Wagoneer.

Me too. Going to the docs these days is just a total frustration. Our healthcare has been destroyed in the US. Very sad. It is almost to the point where folks can't afford to live with the insurance and all the deductibles and STILL get doctors that don't care and/or don't know anything.

I'm looking for a wagoneer project if any of you know of one sitting.
Doesn't have to run, but the less rust, the better.
    Cool 70 you have

    Tom,

There is a basket case or three in a couple of Colorado salvage yards. One is a '68 IIRC
