So I am looking to do an LS swap on the budget. I have a 5.3 from a 99 or 2000 chevy truck. I plan on getting a carb intake and the MSD box for the ignition. I know I will need the flywheel and spacer to bolt up to the trans and I will find the cheap motor mounts. For exhaust I am going to use the stock manifolds unless I can find cheap headers. I know the power steering is fairly easy to hook up but I don't know the details. I believe the pan sits too low for a car and I may look into cutting it down and welding it up or buy a different one. Is there anything else I am forgetting?

For my swap I bought everything I needed from Holley/Hooker. You can't go wrong with their LS swap components. I don't know what your budget is but I would suggest this item for the accessory drive: https://www.holley.com/products/ls_...id_mount/complete_accessory_kits/parts/20-185

Everything bolts to the new water pump housing and is tucked in nice and tight. You may be able to get it without AC too. On my '64 I had to get the smaller P/S pump pulley because it hit the hose fitting on the P/S box.

As cool as that is that is way out of the budget. I was thinking 1000-1500 budget.

    I have the motor
    Intake 350
    MSD 350
Maybe carb adapter and rebuild a q-jet I have 40
    Flywheel and spacer 150
    Oil pan 100
    Motor mount adapter plates 30
Headers or pipes to go to the exh 150
