Thanks. Was looking more at the chrome work (positive), than the stainless (negative). Maybe you should show him how much better the stainless looks when you get done with it, compared to his work. Maybe he'd be interested in farming some work out to you.

They totally destroyed more than their share of perfect cores over the years by buffing the contours flat and for god sake don’t let them ever attempt replating pot metal. If you ever seen the facility in person it is a post frame building with a partial dirt floor with crap piled everywhere. Unfortunately, it’s the only chrome shop in the St. Louis area doing automotive chrome. I ship my stuff out to aih or tri city now The fact that they suck at polishing stainless dosent surprise me
I would not ever recommend Highline plating, even for a bumper. Mine needed done 3 times, still crap! I feel David tried, but, not high quality I was seeking. Troy
We have a hood and bumpers! Headliner is a slow burn...gonna glue the sides up tomorrow. But the Speed Detailing boys are coming tomorrow to ceramic coat this and the Tealmist car.
So....I thought I had the paint looking pretty good on this thing. Then Jordan and Austin come waltzing in and showed me how it’s really done. The transformation was pretty amazing. The photos don’t show it well, but it’s incredible. I finally finished the headliner tonight. No pics though. Just orange candy shell...
No I did the cutting and buffing. But they came in and perfected my work. Performed a paint correction...they showed me what they’re looking for when they do it. It’s pretty in-depth and there are things I never would have checked for that they made sure were covered.
Usually a set charge. They have done the Prototype GSX, the Black GSX, 2 86' Grand Nationals, the Prototype GNX and all of my daily drivers. It is unbelievable what they can do. Absolute perfection.
And they travel state to state? I will check them out for sure. Isn’t there a waiting period b4 applying a sealant over a freshly painted car in order for it to breath and cure ? Or is that old school lacquer technology
Well, they've been to Ohio, Missouri, and many, many other states. The Flame Orange on that 1972 GS Adam is doing is very fresh...I"m sure you'll be OK.
I can text you their info Mark... I’m not sure what the limit is on fresh paint to do the coating. I painted this car just before the new year...so it’s had plenty of time to cure.
I usually do a chemical strip for the first layer or two, depending on thickness and depth of paint. Once I get deep enough, I'll buzz the remainder off with a mud hog and DA. This car was pretty easy since it only had one repaint on top of the original. That silver mist conv I stripped last Summer was a bear, though. The new style stripper didn't want to touch the white candy shell that had been put on it.
