Name list has been updated on the first page per the interest dates I received and put in chronological order to read easier. I sprayed tooling gel-coat today on the underside mold. I went in and eliminated some parting lines on the mold now that it will release the part without actually taking the mold apart. The mold has become seasoned after having 10+ parts put in it, so the surface is more apt to let go without as much struggle! I'll sand and buff it out tomorrow and start on the next hood Monday. This isn't really a change you'd see as I smooth the parting lines down before selling it, it just should cut a little more time out of my labor
Seeing this fantastic hood makes me think I need to build more horsepower to justify such a fine piece. This hobby never ends, lol.
Man I forgot how hard tooling gel-coat is! I had to go down to 320 grit just to start knocking the rough off. Followed up with 400 grit then 10000 grit. More buffing tomorrow.
Craig - Thanks again for delivering the hood last weekend! It looks and fits great and was definitely worth the wait.
Glad you’re happy can’t wait to see a drop top with the hood painted! Well I’m back to the shop to start on the next hood this afternoon
