I was at MAryland International Raceway 3/31/07 when I came across a guy in the swap meet who had two ThermoQuads that he was selling for $25. each.I passed up both of them.ou: Someone tell me the pros and cons of these ThermoQuads.I saw an article that they could changed to flow 1000 cfm,if that so...I ought to have kicked myself.The guy that was selling them said that one came off an automatic car,the other,a 4-speed car...Briefly someone explain to me what makes a ThermoQuad a good performance carb.Is it hard to find parts for? Well.....The CS 1000 CFM flowed......1000 CFM out of the box... I assume the guy wasn't selling the CS 1000 models, but the OEM production models. 800 CFM more or less... You can get all the parts you need for the rarer TQ's (from the Carb Shop) if you have a very fat wallet.... Stick to the Q-jet or the newer Holleys.... My 2 cents.....

I think a lot of them you see at swap meets came off Chrysler products. I have a 800 CFM unit that looks to be in pretty good condition. I bought it for $25.00 in Indy. The 1000 CFM ones are getting pretty rare. Mike D.
I just had a engine dynoed with a 1000 Themoquad Competion Series and it peaked 3hp stronger than a Holley HP1000 and used less fuel to do it. I will drive it on the street so it should work nicely.
