I did just receive my front and rear umper for my 72. Good quality for the price, a few imperfection, need to be finished. Not ready to paint and fit.
I'm happy with them. But don't want to ship oversea, I had to ship them firts in the state then, over here.

What about the weight of weld magnun pro vs centerline convo pro.

I use the centerline and they are light. could the weld be lighter?

The Magnum Pro which I believe is the same weight as the one piece billet Aluma -Stars are 9lbs each. M/T claims 13lbs for there front runner drag tires. So weigh what you have and see. :Do No:

I'll try and weight my wheels and tires this week end. Therefore we'll have a better idea of weight between the aluma star and your wheels Rick M

Gary, Would you be able to get another set of these made up?? How about a price? I have an interested party wanting to buy my original 70 brackets and would sell them if I could get a set of these ones. What about the rear ones? are they available too?

Todd who build the LS2 GSX is showing a chromoly crossmember for his ride. That would help in the weight loss.

The guy who owns that 65 Impala lives here in town. His name is Chuck and the place that the bumpers were dipped is ten minutes from my house. I can call him and get the number for the chrome plating if you need it. I has seen the bumpers come out alot better lately.

anyone know of a place that can custom make a-arms?

i would like some on my wildcat.

how much torque or pressure does the tranny crossmember have to handle?

i was thinking of just making one out of aluminum.

    So,Gary..any updates?

Last time I weighed mine it was 3450. This is with steel bumpers,no back seat, glass hood, weld draglites and a single racing bucket. I've taken out the inner fenders and a majority of the factory wiring.
Then again,I've added back with a vacuum pump and huge braided lines.

So who's taken out the door crash bars and how'd ya do it?

i took mine out.cut them out with a cutoff/blue wheel.before the car was painted though.3 pieces worked best.

I did....They look at good as the prep work will allow.
Mine came out pretty good.People just assumed it was a chrome steel bumper.
The actual process has come along pretty well,I think there are more shops doing it.
In my case I had to ship my bumper to Oklahoma which was pricey for the size.

Those are some pretty beefy frame rails. Why are you using I beams?

the I beams are just the work bench to make sure the chassis is built straight and aligned in all aspects. It’s a fully tube chassis.

    Naaaaaawwwwwww your kidding me.

You could probably cut off a few hunks and send them in to a foundry and get some cranks turned out faster than I could walk to Tri Shield
