    Hello,

Car has been off the road for 30+ years and we recently got it running. Will still need quite of a bit of sorting /full restoration depending on your intended use. Car would make a great patina build or a good candidate for restoration as its nearly rust free and original in a great color combo.

1970 GS 455- Numbers matching drivetrain
Diplomat blue /white vinyl top/ white bench
Power Drum brakes -A/C -Open Rear end
    Have original build sheet

All stock, very original car has not been painted, NC car with very minimal rust (one front lower fender), Trunk, floors, quarters all incredibly solid. Paint is shot as is driver seat, weatherstripping. exhaust etc. Car was stored outside for ~15 years and another 15 or so in the garage.

Engine runs great, freshly rebuilt original 1970 quadrajet from Everyday Performance, new fuel pump, lines, cooling hoses etc. A/C inop, heater core bypassed. Rad should probably be recorded or boiled out.

New brakes all around (lines/ master, etc) -still need adjusting/ fine tuning. Suspension will need rebuilding. Trans is BA TH400 and shifts well, but will likely need resealed.

    Located in Charlotte NC

    $20,000obo

I was in Charlotte today and had a chance to go see this GS in person. Cooterjay's father Mark is the owner and a very nice guy.

The car is in very solid condition. It's been a long time since I have seen one this solid. The trunk pan looked great (Shocker) He did have the crappy plastic in the trunk and I took it out and told him to toss that crap in the garbage because it will do no good to that trunk floor. The underside was extremely solid. I would swear this car was from out west from a dry area. The only rust area I saw was on the pass side front fender and it was a easy small area about the size of a half dollar. Nothing to be overly concerned about. The dash pad will have to be replaced as someone put gauges in the pad. Arm rest on the door being white is crumbling and thats normal. Front seat needs to be completely redone but the rest of the interior was ok for a driver. Dont get fooled but the rust on the outside its light surface rust and not serious at all. Car cranked up cold really well with no bad sounds from the engine and no smoke. ran nice. I see evidence of leaking oil and trans fluid. Everything under the hood looks to be in place for the most part. Not all bastardized like many I have seen. has 14" wheels all around. This is a really good color combo car that is solid. Even has 3 or the 4 original T3 headlights in it. Grill is broken in a few spots and chrome all needs to be redone or replaced. Has pass side mirror but all pitted up. The front bumper needs to be redone but WOW the back side was not all rusted up like most I see. It was clean on the back and that is really rare. This is a good solid car from someone.

That all said I am not convinced that Mark really wants to sell. I think he is just thinking about it. I would strongly advise someone if they are serious about buying it make sure you confirm he truly wants to sell before making a trip to see a car you cant buy. Kept saying things he wanted to do with it this coming summer. His son may have jumped the gun on listing it because he also thinks its worth more than $20k. Said he really was thinking it should be $30K. I was not even remotely interested in it as I have my hands full right now so I did not discuss trying to buy it. He asked me what I thought and I said he was right on price at $20k and that someone will most likely offer $15k for it hoping to get it down to $17k or $18k.

I also said the market is nuts right now so my opinion doesn't mean anything.

If someone wants a good solid car they can fix up and enjoy this would be a great start. I just hope a dealer doesn't get it and do a "Lipstick on a pig" job to the car. I think anyone who gets the car will be overall happy with the condition. If I was a buyer I would put a paint job on it (NOT A FRAME OFF) new top, new front seat, replace the grill, dash pad, and arm rests, Put some 15" wheels and tires on it, correct center caps. Then drive the heck out of it. You will be in the car low enough that you wont get hurt if you decide to sell it later on. Chrome I would try my best to clean the crap out of it but it maybe way to far gone and you have to get it redone and that will cost ya !!

Good luck to anyone interested in it. Its going to make someone a cool car.

I don't believe its for sale. (See my earlier post.) The man likes the car and really doesn't need the money.
