Yup, just the hoodscoop and wheels were different.

Sorry to hi-jack but I had a '77 in high school (paper route & grocery store money - no subsidies, lol). It was one of the tightest cars I have ever owned. It ran 15.5 @ 90.0 mph with Edelbrock intake, true dual exhaust with manifolds, distributor re-curve and open air cleaner.

Selling a 1977 Chevy Camaro Z28, one of about 14,000, built out of Van Nuyes some 45 years ago. Let's get this out of the way, how do I know it's a real Z28? This question led me down a rabbit hole as the trim tag doesn't have the Z28 code. I then had to cross reference the build sheet (what's left of it at least) and it shows the VIN number, the Z28: Special Performance Package in the list of options as well as a stylized Z using the Z28 digits. I've provided pictures, it is a genuine Z28.

Now for the bad news. This is a work in progess. Currently it doesn't turn over as the wiring harness needs to be connected at the firewall, the carb has to be installed and all the fluids changed. The only body rust is on the drivers rear fender and there is a fair amount of scaling on the under side. There are many dings all over the body and one large spot that has been bondo'ed. With the rust, there are bits and pieces that aren't original, the bid ticket items being the valance, carb, air cleaner cover, exhaust and interior. Pretty sure the transmission needs to be rebuilt.

If that hasn't scared you away, let me give you some good news. I have the parts, except the exhaust, to get this back on the road. This is a great car for a restomod, rat rod or just get that 350 turning again and turn it to a daily driver. Easy to maintain, it'll probably survive until we are all driving electrics. It has a new brake system, rebuilt front suspension (in need of a torque and alignment), new 3" headers, and parts to finish the rear suspension (no new leafs though) as well as a new quarter panel to replace the rusted on with new front and back glass. Also, have a two barrel carb and an Edlebrock 1406. There are other odds and ends we can talk about if you're interested.

This is priced to move as I don't have the time or room to finish this project.

My kid mentioned maybe selling his if we can find him the right Buick GS.
Probably $19,500 for ours as is, or $17500 with the original 54k mile 350 back in it.
Car now has 60k miles, well sorted, drive anywhere.

Be sure to post photos of it before and after.

When I saw this one recently in the parking lot of the Pure Stock Drags I thought if you. This was an unrestored car, 4-speed, with the only options being an AM radio, console, & tinted glass according to the window sticker the owner showed me. The 4-speed must have been the standard transmission since it was listed as $0.00.

Car has been off road since 1998 . Was a daily driver . Has factory air conditioning , tilt , power steering and brakes , only 1 owner till I purchased it . Solid with the exception of the drivers side front fender lower rust . Trunk is very nice solid , all stock under hood . Still runs great ,stops steers , starts right up . Needs a good interior cleaning but a good old solid driver .Last year for the 350 with 4 speed in a second gen camaro .

Speaking of '77 Z28s there were three at MCACN last weekend. Mileage on the three cars was 163 (yes 163!), 457 (yes 457!) and 4,420. Same person owned all three cars.

There aren't any. Typical deceptive advertising. It's a Type LT with z28 decals. I bet they say "dealer installed" in the description
