Exhaust manifold contacts bell housing now. :-(

We installed engine last evening but now the exhaust flange is against the bell housing. I guess I will just grind the housing a bit.

Those exhaust manifolds of yours don't seem to want to fit anywhere. Not sure what is going on with them. Doesn't look like much needs to be ground off to make it fit.

did you put the reflex gaskets on there? I knew headers were easier lol

Yes remflex. ....and correct not much to grind off. ....next my exhaust pipe will have to be tweaked so it doesn't rub something  :p

That manifold must have been milled quite a bit at some point in its life.

^^ right there is probably what is wrong with those manifolds.

Yes. I had them milled about 30 years ago and installed remflex gaskets. I don't remember any clearance being close but apparently trueing up the heads and block added all up enough to cause the issue now. Maybe the machine shop took a bit more off the heads and block than I thought they would. :)

I was thinking the same thing, between the manifold milling, and exhaust side of the head milling you have tolerance stack up
