My friend bought a optima from suppositly decent used car dealer.
I told her to consider a 2005 Camary we saw at another dealer but she didn't like the brown color ugh!

From about the day she bought it it's warning lights have been coming on for different things..
The first 2 months owner ship she might of had access to it to it for 10 days.
First was the engine light which showed cam sensor to which they fixed the issue with new oil?? and so called other mumbo jumbo. At least they went synthetic and got rid of the Fram filter.
Then the TPMS light went on to which the tries shop they refered her to said to live with it but somehow it went off.
The low tire pressure light went off and the tires were only at 29 psi and I filled them to 35 psi to which it went off.
Now the air bag light is on. I only checked the fuse inside the cabin but will see if any relay is in the engine bay fuse box.
I asked the dealer back then when the issues first started and they had the car for 2 months if she still had the 90 days warrentee after this and he said NO because they we are fixing it now..
You don't want to mess with some people and give even give a bad review cause I thought of it but out this way people will slash your tires while your not looking. It's not about how tough or stern you can be it's just they can send a kid or thug to mess with your car which you cant look over all day long.

I'm seeing alot of Kia dash light issues online and wondering what the air bag light is about?

Does anyone know to just how far I can go with a vehicles repair or recall records by using the Vin#?
I mostly want to see if there are any records of fixed recall issues like the link Patrick gave me.
I don't want or trust the dealer with their report.
Yes there is Carfax but are they worth the money? They want you to accept their cookies before even trying and yes i'm not to sure what that means:oops: but googling it tells you its a 50-50 chance of giving out your personal info.

    1972Mach1 Just some M.M.O.G. guy.....

You should be able to call a dealership with the VIN and they can tell you any open and closed recalls, or if any service bulletins have been performed. Just tell them you bought the car used and wanted to check. You don't even need to be in the same state.

Yes, just call and say you just bought this car and wondered if it had any open recalls and if you get a good person on the line they'll look up it's history of factory bulletins and recalls done. At least at gm looking it up is about a 30 second process.
