Head porter is waiting for a slider for his head flow porting setup
. That way each time he ports a runner he can flow test and then quickly slide over to the next runner. Way less setup time. I still need to put my SUV engine back in and then put the Skylark on the lift so I can do a mid plate and front plate. The engine was torquing over so hard it was pulling on the side of the block at the engine mount location. The thin wall casting was distorting as the engine mount was torqued on under power. I have the tools and materials for this so I will work on it this winter.

DO A LS ...lol there he goes again :)

Turbos work good on the 350 i just finished the EFI install on my TT350.

with that said, whatever you do think about the EFI stuff if you planing on driving it.
for track use i would always do good internals and SPPPRRRRAAAYYY. its just the right thing to do.

check out torquestorm superchargers maybe they can help with SC

With the parts I listed in the first post. I am planning on going with a TH200-4r what stall converter would I need? Also looking at a Holley Sniper EFI to fuel the beast. Would the basic up to 650hp be enough. I would think so.

    Thanks

You can’t go wrong with a 3200-3500 stall lockup converter. Once you are cruising the lock-up will engage and you get 100% engagement. It’s not like the TH-400 with a 3500 stall where you have overheating and loss of mileage.

yes 650 Hp should more than cover any 350.

So I did get to speak briefly to Denny @ the Nationals - What a nice gentleman. Surely he'd been talking nothing but Buick engines for a couple days at that point and made it seem like I was the 1st one he'd talked to. Showed me the prototype parts (some of which ppl showed up w/at BG unexpectedly). Truly a memorable Buick/Nationals experience.

I asked why they didn't continue w/the deep skirt design on the new BBB design (maybe not exactly the question we'd been discussing) for '67 and he said two things:
    1. The new BBB was/is a direct descendant of the SBB/V6 design - This he was absolute on.
    2. He didn't recall exactly why on not using the same deep skirt as the SBB but surmised that at the time it was a weight/cost issue.

WOW, Thats the first time I heard that!
I believe what he said, but to look at the two blocks you wouldn't think the two were related except for the oiling system, and timing cover set up with distributor, oil pump, fuel pump, water pump being mounted to it.
So in essence, the SBB is the BBB's older brother:D

So, currently working on the fuel system for the Sniper. Dropping the tank in the wagon is a royal PITA. Waiting to get the furnace fixed so I can use the space heater in the garage vs Having to use it to heat the house. Still considering the builds I mentioned.

I can’t say I know what the wagon fuel tank looks like. Best of luck with your furnace and build! Merry Christmas

Heat the garage first then shut the heater off before you make the final drop on the gas tank. Just in case some gas comes out of the fuel lines as this could cause a good explosion from the fumes running across the cold floor to the heat source if it is low like a kerosene heater.
I raced one at the track in 2020 at Quaker for a little Buick Bash there it ran a high 13.

Tank is out. Just trying to get the remaining fuel out of it. Thinking of hooking up my MSD HP fuel injection pump to it to speed the process along. LOL just run a line from the wagon tank to the Ranger. Furnace is finally fixed.

Slightly off topic. Is TA shipping the 350 heads quickly or is their a wait. May do a layaway to start the process then once they are ready then pay the rest off.

Last I heard they didn’t have any 350 heads ready to sell. They need to hire a machinist before they can finish the heads but we have been hearing this same story for a year or so...

The last person I know who tried to put the heads on layaway and pay the rest when they are ready to ship waited about 2 years and then gave up and got their deposit back.

It’s a shame, the heads are great upgrades. It’s worth looking into them anyways. I heard Bobb mackley (finishline Motorsports) has a few sets ready to sell.
