A very productive evening and I guess Pandora is out and about. No glitches for once , get to see a lot more of the old girl than I ever have . Want to take a good look in the daylight and take a bunch more photos. Thanks ( I hope ) to everyone for all the motivation to go just a bit further…

Body mounts are easier to replace too, well heck.. while the body is lifted may as well do the brake and fuel lines. Oh snap the tank is rusty.. let’s replace that and the sender and… sorry I am not helping am I ;)

Hey guys I had to step back from my resto project due to a health issue… as well as most things that require standing. Was diagnosed with cellulitis in one of my feet . Was told that it was close to turning into sepsis. All from stepping on a sheet metal screw that went through my shoe & approx 3/8”into my foot. Cellulitis is a tough bacteria to kill but this last round of antibiotics hopefully will do the trick . Looks pretty ugly and hurts like hell . Too much time horizontal for me is nota good thing .

Ouch - had that in my foot. They had to cut it open and power wash it!

Back to work on this project. Had some Health issues that are mostly past and on my feet again. I’ve elected to do the body bushings now due to 2 I know are shot , and with the disassembly I’ve done this will be be the most practical time . I’ve been soaking them for last 10 days with PB blaster , drilling holes above the approx location of the cage nuts , When I go to loosen them, pneumatic gun or 1/2” drive breaker bar ? I’ve heard arguments for both.

Lightly impact. Usually the vibration created loosens the rust so the bolt comes out of the caged nut. Take your time & try not to do it all in one shoot.

Last resort would be to use a hole saw and access the cage nuts through the floor. Then weld the plug back on

I had to take another break from the resto due to some more unrelated issues with foot/ knee that diminished my ability to walk and get around greatly. Had a few months off from work to decide on and plan my next tasks on the Buick. Mobility is still an issue but I’m finding ways to work around that. Also ordered some more parts and watching how to resto videos. Going forward I removed the body bushings ( only one cage nut decided to rotate when it was almost out ) The others came out with repeated soaking with PB Blaster . A long 2 ‘ breaker bar and patience did the rest . My new bushing kit from Stage 1 just arrived and will be tackling that next. Undecided if I want to change the brake-fuel line as they do not leak. Also will be replacing the blower motor and heater core that both work but look probably original. Stay tuned
