    Hi all,

Saw this on Facebook yesterday figured I'd share, looks like we're getting some new parts for the old nailheads.

It's about time. We have been waiting for Marty or Carmen or Edelbrock or anyone to do this for years. I would be very interested in the flow numbers. It looks like it has a larger square bore pattern that will fit the smaller ones as well. I cant wait for details!

Very cool. It will be nice not to have sift through people's garbage on ebay to find a decent manifold.

Doubt we'll ever see aftermarket heads for the Nail. Just simply not enough demand for the R&D then a production run.

nice to see they did make it, but why now and not 10 years ago when i was begging TA, Edelbrock and Marty Eelco to make them. as for heads i can see why it would be not worth it. but don't forget that bolting on a good flowing intake will help your heads flow a great deal. need to see flow numbers compared to a stock intake that's for sure.

Wicked hypothetical question, if there was a after market head for a Nail head which way do members think it would be made.
Working on the dog leg on the exhaust? or working on the pent roof or semi hemi design?

This is nice give that Nail a boost 2 styles also. This would be fun to do a 401-425 build up

Since no one is going to make Aluminum heads for a Nailhead, this is purely hypothetical, but to me, the only reason to make aluminum heads would be for weight. If the heads didn't stick pretty close to the existing design, the finished engine wouldn't be a Nailhead. Why not just use another engine that breathes better? The Nail was designed for bottom-end torque to get a heavy car with a smooth, strong, but inefficient transmission moving. It's pretty close to the best there is at doing just that. My Nailhead replaced a Diesel for more torque.

i mean if you could keep the look and ad more meat to flow better why wouldnt you? idk why you couldnt keep the flat look but make them flow a bit better. hell if the stockers had more meat to port would be a big advantage.
