Not mine. Not a lot of detail about the car or paper work. First glance it looks good, I was looking for the chart on how many bench seat big block cars were built, let alone in a GSX in 71. 1971Buick GSX STAGE 1 - cars & trucks - by owner - vehicle... (craigslist.org)
White painted floorpans. And either the pans are repro or they molded in the drain plugs. Odd....why would you do either?
Need documentation for this one. My Canadian documented 71 GSX has a bench seat. Column shift and black vinyl top.
Trying to point a member to the known 71 GSX production figures. Just in case they did not know they existed. Not everyone is aware of what Mark has put together for the GSX cars. As we know, there is currently no "Sloan" documents available for 71 cars. Cars sold to Canada are lucky to have that data available.
Seems sketchy. Many times when the # is given like that it's a scam to get/sell your #. Use the CL email relay or a burner phone to call.
Thanks. Appreciate any incite. Got your book and it is awesome . I am very aware of the 71 and 72 GSXs. Back in the day I turned down the 72 GSX Stage 1 4spd that Mike has. The dealer offered it to me for $3500 Canadian. He collected extremely rare low production muscle cars . Also had a Cougar GTE with the 427 side oiler. 1 of 50 built. And down the road was a 69 L88 Vette for $ 21, 000 CDN that the ex wouldn't let me buy. The muscle car scene was just as heavy as in the US. There was a strip in Surrey where it was used car lot after car lot with used muscle cars for sale. Also some Yenko type dealers taking new Pontiac Beaumonts ( cross over between Chevelle and GTO ) and transplanting 427 Vette motors in them as Canadian Pontiacs had Chevy running gear and 12 bolt rear ends. Ever see a Copo 66 factory Nova ( Acadian) with a 427 ? Yep the good old days ; )
So looking at the data sheet for 71 that Mike posted a link to, it's saying that only 5 were built with code 11 artic white? Is this only for documented and registered GSX's? So if no other documentation, need to get a picture of the cowl tag and vin to verify.
Neither would confirm it being a GSX. Low body # on the tag would be the only indicator (of an SCO) but not definitive.
I am not sure Mark Macoubrie used only “verifiable” information for the 71 cars, but took the owners at their word. Someone might want to ask him that question. Currently there are only like around 20 or so 71 GSX’s with documentation of some type. Anything beyond that and you are just “assuming” some type of answer. As far as 71 GSX’s with front bench seats, both of my 2 cars came with them. Duane
Car is listed as being in Port Huron, Port Huron is the location that I think Rich Johns also uses in his listings, maybe he knows the car?
I did a search of that phone #. It came up with a Hemi car on racing junk. The number came up with an address that does not match the pictures of the GSX or the Hemi. These ads both have different homes in the background of the car pictures. Maybe a consignor in the area? If Redman could put his eyes on the car, at least we'd know it is a real for sale ad? Troy
I know the car and have known of the car for over ten years. I checked it out for him years ago, somewhere I have pictures and numbers. It is non matching and stage-1 parts are missing, if it is even a stage-1 car. I know years ago it was in mag layout. The author did not get any verification for his write up. No paperwork and it is Not a Canada car. There is a story with the car but none of it has been verified. He has several different cars.
