How about if I throw in that it was a Buick and it was a "Grand National"? Would that spark you interest? Most reading this are now picking their brains trying to remember what special edition (Regal based) Grand National was produced in low numbers – after-all every year the Grand National was produced it was made in much larger numbers than 117 or 112. However it’s not what you think. This low production Grand National wasn’t built on GM’s rear-wheel drive G-body platform like the Regal based Grand National. Surprising it was built on GM’s new front-wheel drive H-body platform. Buick had moved its upscale Electra from GM’s traditional rear-wheel drive B-body to the new front-wheel drive H-body platform for the 1985 model year. Buick’s more pedestrian LeSabre made the move for the 1986 model year. The new front-wheel drive LeSabre was available in both a 2-door and 4-door configuration just like the front-wheel drive Electra. However where the Electra had a very formal roofline for the 2-door Electra, the 2-door LeSabre had a semi-fastback roofline which gave the 2-door LeSabre a very sporty overall look. Currently being parted out. In other news: The 68 GS was hauled off today by Dano & the 86 GN LeSabre is being parted out. I will try and find more info on the title,rust options etc to the wagon as I committed to helping before I hit this horrible depression.
"Rare but nobody cares"... very sad in a way. Many a good and historically important car has gone this route; - I suppose it may actually be better to blame the person who left this thing out to rot like it did, that didn't need to happen.
Yep, the owner took the blame for that without my even mentioning it but unfortunately the same result.
Same thing on the Sportwagon. Was probably a darn nice car before it was left outside & he said so himself that he left it sit out for too long.
It has the original engine, just not in it. Drove one years ago. Not a bad ride for the times. I have to many projects myself or I would take a drive for this or the Sportwagon.
The GN,pending shipping logistics has ALL the GN parts spoken for. I made a run at buying the wagon (if title was resolved) but my 44 years of Buick passion is finally whisping (sp) away. Just trying to help a nice younger guy on the way down in hopes it would take my mind off my “issues”. I failed on that but at least helped pass the torch and help make “the kid” a few extra bucks. So weary of my “life”
