Hey Guys, Does anyone have the correct GSX black paint codes both Black and red for 1971 GSX? The Body color I am going with is Lime Mist Poly. Thank-you.
Find a semigloss 2K black and go for it. Tamco has a good one out, and of course I don't remember the number off the top of my head. I used the Ditzler Hot Rod Black kit on the 72 X when I did it, and it was just a bit too flat for my taste. But I had it ceramic coated and it brightened it up nicely. As far as the red, use the Fire Red code. No one is going to know any different.
I have the paint codes for a 70. Give me time to dig them out and I will post them. When I did my 70 I used the Ditzler Hot Rod Black remember the black was originally pretty flat paint. If you are going for an original look its as close as you can get. Jim
The codes are on the GSX assembly manual page. I believe gloss level was 30 percent. Not dead flat. Some GSX engineers said this in an article a few years ago.
Im also trying to find a stencil kit or good measurements or anything that will help and layout GSX stripes from what I found the stencil kits aren’t any good ? It’s 2021 now maybe the stencil kit is better than before more accurate as anybody used this kit Lately Phoenix graphics in the Turquoise background how about it is anybody got good results using their kit lately please let me know thank you
