I agree 12K is the top of the market. I know of another 71 GS 350 in similar shape for less money.

Yes. it is the Bay Area. I sold the guy some parts several years ago. I had the opportunity to buy the car before he bought it but i passed on it. He tried to sell it a few years ago but he still has it along with a few other project cars.

Makes me happy I found mine for 10k 6 years ago. I either got lucky, or the prices on 71 GS went way up in that time. According to Hagerty, they went down.

Hagerty would value that car around 6.9k

    • #1 Concours $31,600
    • #2 Excellent $18,200
    • #3 Good $12,800
    • #4 Fair $6,900
#4 vehicles are daily drivers, with flaws visible to the naked eye. The chrome might have pitting or scratches, the windshield might be chipped. Paintwork is imperfect, and perhaps the body has a minor dent. Split seams or a cracked dash, where applicable, might be present. No major parts are missing, but the wheels could differ from the originals, or other non- stock additions might be present. A #4 vehicle can also be a deteriorated restoration. "Fair" is the one word that describes a #4 vehicle.

This car is a 7-8k car.
There are just a few of us goofballs that think manual steering, manual brake, non- A.C. cars are cool, and we are the ones creating the interest level to go up.
Most people don't want a boned out, no option car.
If there was no such thing as internet, this car would sit for sale locally for a long-long time, and be lucky to find a buyer at the $4000 level. IMHO
    So $4000 x internet(=2) double value, equals $8000.
Add in some free Biden Bucks, and income tax return money, and someone will probably overpay, so it might hit $10k, but that doesn't mean that's the real value. Prices are inflated as bad as the housing market currently, too much free money floating around.
When the bubble bursts, and it will, there is going to be a crap ton of houses and classic cars for sale C H E A P!!!!!

Exactly what I was thinking - $8500 & you're correct about the few of us who like the low option cars.

I would value the car between 7k to 9k . I think the interest in it is because it exists and it hasn't been all hacked up. Hacked up vehicles very common in California since there are no inspections other than emission testing and no salt and snow to rust them to the ground decades ago to put them into long term storage. Vehicles tend to stay on the road much longer here in California. Other than mom running into and backing into things it is in decent shape.

    Haha no idea
Buicks are not a California thing unless it's a lowrider regal.

Gotta love it lol. Can’t even count how many times I have seen this.
Someone not really knowledgeable on Buick posts a car up for sale and every buddy & their brothers calls for more pictures, details”the story” etc etc
Seller translates that into “he has a goldmine of buyers” but 95% of the calls are tire kickers & picture collectors.
Unless someone totally bugs out over it and overpays the 10k let his phone stop ringing for a couple months & pick it up for $7500-8 cash in his face.
Definitely not an investment car although seller is probably convinced it is now.
Just a scraped up,low option, small block, low compression, possum pissed on Glorified Skylark.
I wouldn’t put 5k in it, non appreciating money pit to me.
Would I drive it though? Oh helllllllllll yes!!! lol

He contacted me today also. that is why I mentioned the added pictures in my previous post. I told him I am not interested at his price and GLWS which seemed to rub him the wrong way. I agree with Fritz on his opinion of the vehicle.

How often do you see an un-cracked Batwing steering wheel & the dash pad is about the straightest one I've seen. Even the dash/radio bezels look great.

A good bodyman could straighten all the sheetmetal to require minimal filler (looks like the pass door handle took a hit and caved in the door a bit too). Needs new bottom front seat cover (kinda surprisingly) & the mold (?) on the headliner is a bit surprising too.

But what's up w/the repainted engine & assuming these are current pics, no heater hoses?

Regardless of all that, still an $8500 car but as soon as one started putting any $ into it to minimally fix the above you'd be upside down.

The mold and repainted engine might be from Mister Peebody Possum making the rounds:eek::D:D
Wonder what that thing has been drinking to strip the paint off the hood and fender as seller says?
    Muratic Acid?:D
I am watching you Dano.....do not buy that thing,I can hear your gears rolling on how to get it from here lol

Gotta keep that carbon buildup from getting ahead of us ya know.
Just make sure that damn possum isn’t nested away in it before transporting! Suckers have like a thousand saliva drippin teeth!:D:D
