Front suspension new and ball joints tubular control arms . I had the vehicle alignment done the car travels straight just when driving switching lanes the steering is really touchy. The faster you go on a back road it wants to travel to the other lane ( not the best feeling) new control arms add 4 degrees positive caster into them what would be the new alignment specs and has any one ran into this issue 72 skylark 455/TH400

I would run 6 degrees caster, make sure it has toe in (1/8 th inch) and a bit of negative camber (1/2 to 1 degree.) If you have low profile tires you will really have to work on bump steer.

Check toe. The car will wander without proper toe in.

even if the new tubular control Arm have 4 degrees pull it to 6 degrees I’m running rallies 15 inch wheel

I had this with a Technician that aligned my car on an electronic machine. I went back and still not right.

Then I found a guy that realigned it with just a steel ruler. Perfect!

Sounds like it has over sensitive power steering to me. Borguson makes a pressure kit that addresses this very problem. ALSO, get a faster ratio steering box from Hector. Not only will it tighten up the steering feel but you'll have a more modern handling car.
    Just my thoughts.

I have a Global West front end and their specs are 5 1/2 degrees right side and 6 degrees caster left side (from memory could have switched right and left.) I agree with Larry and suspect the toe is not right. should not have a bump steer problem on 15 in wheels. More caster will make the car track better.

change the steering box, one of my GS racing friends had that same issue to a point that he was scared to wreck the car. I gave him one of those Jeep Cherokee close ratio boxes and it fixed the problem. Hector on here sales the modified original ones ready to go. I would get one from him.

I changed it out with one from a camero its a lot better still like the first quick ratio steering just I know if I’m on a 2 lane road it wants to pull the other way. Or let’s say if I have to change lanes on the interstate you have to mother it to the next lane small turn it will go take little effort... but if driving on the interstate going stright or speeding you feel it does have some play where you have to slow down

As well as being more resistent to cross winds & the steering wheel returns to center more rapidly after making a turn amonst other positive results.

The toe in adjustment is still key.
