Max Damage I'm working on it!

Working on my stupid leaking freeze plugs (in the car).

Pulled the drivers side engine mount to get at the middle plug. and upon looking at the mount, it appears the rubber block has significant cracks across it on both visible sides.

Is there a preferred replacement for this item?

    Thanks in advance...

I've thought about this recently as I accumulate parts for my two 350 cars. I've seen NOS, NORS (old parts store replacements), the Chinese pair I have from the '80's (came w/one of the cars), and the new ones from Rock Auto. Not sure where the RO are made (there were 2 brands on there IIRC - Hopefully both aren't made in China) and haven decided but I'm inclined to go for the new ones.

I wonder about NOS goods with materials that don't age well, like in dash speakers and maybe engine mounts too... I see Rock auto has a couple of different brands. Maybe I will check my local store, although I am going to guess they won't have it on the shelf...

I have like 6 different sets brand new that I tried to get to work on my V6 to 350 conversion in my 76Skylark that I will let go cheap.

That was my concern w/NOS. Rubber does have a shelf life. I also have a concern w/Chinese quality not to mention I'd rather not buy anything from them regardless. The descriptions on RO sound impressive. IMHO, everything sold online should have to show country of origin just as it does in the store. Might have to buy one of each on RO just to see.

How old, what brands &/or made in China? I need two pairs for my cars.

ok, Can I see what they look like? Are they all the same? Any noticeable differences?

Video of that new 350 would be good too!

    Thanks!

Ok sorry, only 2 sets, the other ones are v6 mounts that will bolt up to the 350 but can not handle the weight. The ones on the box are Anchor made in USA, the darker crappy looking ones are made in India, the light and dark colored ones are a comparison of the 2. Light ones made in USA.

The picture with the 2 with the same side up is a comparison between the made in USA and made in India. Big difference in quality. I take it you want the good ones? I'll check on shipping, what state is that by chance?

Do the Anchor ones seem to be relatively new? I had found a pair that IIRC were Anchor but the boxes looked like '70's/80's.

No problem - It was your thread.

It looks like the company is still active and selling the mounts?

The box he showed has the web address on it, so must be newer.

I didn't even notice the web address. I'll have to see if I can find a couple pair of them.

What's the Anchor part # (or if you could, post a pic of that part of the box). Thx.

I used to drill two 1/4" thru holes and bolt (just flush) the two mounting plates together with a crimped locknut.
Worked like a turnbuckle would, keeping your engine from jumping up off the mounts. Only drivers side was needed.

If you search those #'s on their web site and they state the 2383,2384 fits my 76 Skylark but if you just look up mounts for a 76 Skylark it comes up 2281 both L&R, so maybe that needs a little research.
