Still Looking for Big Valve 350 Heads

I have been wanting to put headers on my 71 4-speed GS 350 but the few bolts I've tried are not coming out. They have that spongy, I'll snap feeling to them. So I figure I'll either pull the motor or pull the heads.

What I'd love to do is find a reasonably good set of big valve converted 350 heads that will bolt on my 71 350 block to save me the effort of drilling and tapping a bunch of 50-year-old rusted bolt/holes.

Anyone swapped on some aluminum heads and have an old set of heads that needs a freshening up they want to part with?

I've had a line on a few sets but they never materialize or they want most of the price of a set of T/A aluminum heads for the iron ones. This isn't a race car, I'm just lazy and want to improve for as little as possible.

I will drive 200 miles in any direction from Bowling Green, KY since shipping will be a tough pill to swallow.

That's southern Indiana, Cincy, Ohio to Chattanooga, TN to Huntsville, AL if you have something that I might be able to use.

For some reason I thought you lived in western PA. I hope we see some sets of these come up for sale. I'm a long way off from needing them, but would love to find a set too to maybe someday build a stock appearing 350. I had a set on my last 350 build that were done by a guy that I believe now works for TA (Dave?). Never had flow #'s but seemingly they ran great w/a KB C118 cam, T/A intake, & headers.

From what I understand.... Fastenal is shipping again.. At the time I asked the fastenal counter man is that they weren't doing any East West coast shipping.. In other words no shipping across Mississippi River.... That was 2 months ago..

Are they big-valve or stock heads? Are they ready to run or need freshening? What do you want for them and shipping to 42104 or the closest Fastenal here in Bowling Green, KY?

They are the stock GS Heads ,the car was had bearing problems, did not want to put $ into them and got a BBB to go into the car.The heads look good,no broken bolts, but they are stock head and the price will show that.Bruno.

I'll even send you the shafts with the rockers, but I do want $100.00 plus shipping for the lot.If you have fastenal there, you can prepay for shipping,as here they give me a hard time. The shafts with the rockers are all in good condition.Bruno.

OK, I still need to know at least a zip code to get an estimate on the shipping.

Does anyone know what an assembled small block Buick head weighs?

Sean once said: roll heads up separate in carpet, then wrap them all up with duct tape, & a piece of strong rope tied around for handle, no box.:D
    Guessing abt 60 lbs each.

Demko will be selling his irons soon. In fact he could sell them now while winter sets in....:D

The "carpet " option works great. Hey it works on bodies why wouldn't it work on cyl. Heads.

LOL, I would be more than happy to sell the big stainless TA valves, springs, retainers and locks:D
But the bare heads, Im not sure, if they do have cracks around the valve guides, I'd hate to sell defective heads to a member, unless Mart wants 'em:p:p:p

I'd be interested if they aren't cracked. What would it cost to get them checked out?
