After a not-so-productive trip to buy a car today, I picked up the wheels and tires from the tire shop. Got home and cleaned the blue goo off and painted the centers. These ought to look ok on the car....

Did you buy the L60 for the rears?

Are those the original wheels or repros? They look great.

Most of this car did...just a couple major trouble spots that we weren't expecting. I am really impressed with the wheels, though.

    BUQUICK I'm your huckleberry.

I know firsthand that the reproduction G60 tires don’t ride or drive as nice as a modern radial tire but they sure do look fantastic.

Did those tires balance out okay without needing a ton of weight? Are those the original WM coded rims? If so what are the date codes on the inner lip?

After the first of the year I need to buy 10 reproduction tires myself and I really dread the $$$$ hit. Any tips for a good deal would be appreciated :)

Rusty Small "Rusted Tires" is the guy for tires as far as I'm concerned. I'll check the codes on the wheels when I get to the garage.

Buy them directly from Kelsey Tires in Camdenton, Missouri and use any business address for a mechanic shop to ship to and you will get a pretty good discount, even better if you go there and pick up......tell them Brent Hunter sent you also, won’t hurt.

I am waiting on heads to get the engine back together, so I got all of the black front sheet metal painted. Exhaust manifolds and heat shield are painted, and carburetor is rebuilt.

Tomorrow I’m driving to Chicago to pick up and engine for the 62 Olds I just bought. So no progress on the orange car until Wednesday.

Adam, I really enjoyed your thread on the 72 GSX, and this one looks great too. I've got a 70 Stage but really love 72s (and may try to trade into one at some point if I can) I'm sure you hear it a lot but your work looks top notch.

I plowed through almost all of the small trinkets and bolts for the engine compartment today...as well as cleaning out the AC and heater boxes. Both disassembled and cleaned.

Yesterday was the trip to and from Chi-town to pick up the engine for the 62 Starfire. Got home super late last night, so it was a tough start this morning.

By the time the heads get done for this car, I’ll have pretty much everything ready to bolt back on the car. Patience...
