image1.jpeg Having a little trouble figuring out what color top it had. I think it is a triple green car.

Yup, Seamist green body, dark green vinyl top, green notchback bench seats.

I like green cars - That would be a beautiful combo when done.

My current '70 350 4-sp (project) is Seamist w/a Sherwood Green painted top (black interior). My Stage 1 4-sp is Sherwood & has a green vinyl top (white interior). My old 350 4-sp had the green notchback interior (Solid Sherwood exterior).

Yours is a combo of all 3 of those cars! The orig. Green top mat'l is still avail (not cheap) from SMS. They all faded badly. The original green tops were much darker than any used one I've ever seen - About the same shade as Sherwood.

Pics? What's your plan with car?

Not really sure what I’m going to do with it right now probably not going back with triple green (I would like to be able to sell it someday)
And it’s not super rare or numbers matching. I’m thinking silver with black top black interior or gulfstream blue white top white interior. I had a gulfstream white top blue interior car it was beautiful.

For what it's worth, Seamist Green is actually pretty popular these days. It was also the 9th most popular color in 1970 of the 22 available. The green top and interior isn't as popular as the black top and black buckets. I've gotten lots of positive feedback on the one I just bought. If you're going to sell it, it might be beneficial to keep the original paint color and just change the top and interior. If you decide to go that way, here's the one I just bought: IMG_5830.jpg Pics at Lake Dora (2).jpg Pics at Lake Dora (4).jpg Rennigrs Show (1).jpg

Seamist Green is a great color that really complements the red GS emblems and red stripe rocker moldings.

That's a beautiful car, if my car was numbers correct it would be a different story, it doesn't have the original engine trans or rear end so being original color isn't going to help it much. I'm going to build it how I would have ordered it

That’s a beautiful car Ray! Your interior looks wonderful too! Breezy, good luck and thank you for sharing!

This is an original paint Seamist Green, had a green top when I bought it, swapped it over to white to match the interior.

When I bought my green top (Sherwood bottom) car it came w/a white top to match the interior, which I sold although I agree it would've looked sharp. Great looking car you have. Is that Brian's old car?
Yea, takes a special person to like triple green, lol. Definitely a tougher sell.

I think so too Rich. On my Seamist car (Sherwood painted top), I'm thinking redlines too. It's also going to get the orig. "Deluxe" (aka volano) wheelcovers to start which have a touch of red in the center medallions. I really can't picture the car "done" w/any other wheel option. It's a super low option car & while the pics of chrome wheels on Seamist posted here look great, it just doesn't seem right on my car. Dog dish w/Seamist wheels might be more fitting but the volcanoes will be kinda different and orig.
Beautiful car Ray. Some ppl say black/Seamist don't look good together but that's a stunning combo. Makes me feel better about the black interior on mine. Seamist/Sherwood painted top & black interior really took me a while to get a vision of how it would look "done." I'm really anxious to get going on it (basket case car that came to me apart).

Does your car have a black headliner?

So what determines if a car gets a black or white headliner with white seats?

Good question !? I’d like to know too as I have seen cars equipped as such! Maybe someone can chime in on this old thread ?

I believe, based on observation, that the 1970 model year cars with white interiors, had white headliners. Early 1971 model year, the same. But at some point in the 1971 model year the white interior cars convert to black headliners. I think this continues for 1972. I'd like to hear other thoughts too. There could have been some variation based on the plant the car was produced in?

As an example my early build 1971 GS has a white interior with white headliner.

I think I talked to the guy who bought it. He was a collector out of PA, older guy - probably out of the game or close to it by now. He had bought a bunch of cars and hadn't even looked at it before it hit the stage.
