List updated. I'm in Berkeley Springs, WV, north east panhandle, looks like 157 miles from Pittsburgh. With the cost of shipping, pick up is worth it sometimes!

do you do your own bodywork and paint? Wondering if you would prep and paint mine before I pick it up?

Painting a hood without the car would look OK at best. You really need to have the car to get a better result.

As Brian stated, there's a few issues here, one would be matching the color. Now I have painted several of my hoods and they look okay because it's a solid color, but if you really look you can see a slight difference. Then if you have a metallic color, it's really an issue. The other thing is the hood really needs to be test fit prior to paint. Every car is different, especially when we're talking 50 year old cars! So the hood may take a small amount of trimming or bondo on the edges to get it real close. This is the same with all fiberglass parts you buy out there.

The bolt-on hood with the air box comes in at ~38 pounds. The air box probably adds 10 pounds, so the hood alone would be about 28 pounds. I’ve only made two without the airbox and I don’t recall weighing them. If I think about the next air box I lay I’ll weigh it before bonding it to the hood. I could probably make the hoods a little lighter but I prefer to have a little extra strength especially if it’s going on a street/strip application

38lbs is very good, especially for a bolt-on hood. No complaints here.

That's not bad at all. Any idea what a stock hood weighs?

OK, I'll finish up the current hood tomorrow and start on the next one early next week. Trying to get these completed, but doing it right takes some time. Unless someone really doesn't want it, I'm going to drill the holes for the front molding. This can be a pain with the location of the holes so close to the front edge, and some still do break through. I'll include some of the aluminum rectangular washers that work well holding the molding securely.

Next question, the list of names I have on this thread are a combination of recent posts as well as posts and emails form 6 years ago. As I complete a hood I send a message to the next 4 people in line and ask if they're still interested in a hood. If I do not hear anything in 10 days or so, I move on. I think this is reasonable. Now when I posted this list originally a month or so ago, I asked people to let me know if they were interested. As I said I also send messages to the next few folks on the list. So I was thinking about reorganizing the list, moving the folks up that have replied back to me. As it stands right now the current hood is going to BUICK GS Rules, next is Alaska Hickey. After that the date of confirming interest will dictate the order. Does this seem fair?

As of right now I need to step out of line, because I have a hard time finding resonable transport to Savannah where it need to be shipped out from. If one of the buyers in this thread is from down that area and is picking up I am willing to pay for getting mine along.
Craig, if its still okay with you I would like the option you suggested to stay in the loop, thanks.

No problem, I’m sure getting something shipped overseas can be a hassle and expensive.

Good deal! the cost is $700 for the hood plus shipping and handling which you can avoid :) Only an hour and a half? Where are you located? Payment requirements, I prefer a check or money order. I have taken Pay Pal on the last hood I sold but since I'm new to Pay Pal it can take a week AFTER the hood is received, costs me $25 and then once the money is released for transfer to my bank it can take another 5-7 days, unless I want to pay another $7.00 to transfer it sooner! Now maybe this is all because I'm new to Pay Pal, but it can be a pain from my end. I'm looking at setting up an account with Square so I can take credit cards as well.
