Car will not start, Please Help!

So I had a little time today to keep working on it. I figured having the pulley off would give me a little more room so with the lubricant the bolts came right off. No luck with the balancer tho. I tried putting the breaker bar at 90 but it’s just a tad too short to touch the ground at that 90 degree angle. I might talk to some guys at work maybe they might have a power tool somewhere

 

Maybe a 4x4 or 6x6 or cement block under breaker handle using Larry's method?

That might be your best bet, if you could borrow a 1/2" drive electric impact gun that would do it for you.
Im assuming you don't have any air, or air tools?

Not here in Arizona I do not. One of my buddies at work said he has an electric drill he uses for wood work I might give that a try

Jimmy, Look for a simple piece of metal tube that fits over your breaker bar or buy one from Harbor Freight. The impacts are very nice but expensive if your on a budget. A couple pieces of 2 x 4 might also work as well.

 

Copy, yea I saw the price on the power tool. It’s nice to have and maybe I’ll use it in the future but right now I don’t have the funds to get one. I’ll just look for a bar around work and try that first

 

Post a picture of the bar on the car if you need more help.

 

DONT try a drill, especially a 1/2" drill, you WILL snap your wrist

 

I might have found something at work that might work but I forgot it today tomorrow I’ll set it up and send a picture. Thanks for the heads up

 

When I took my balancer bolt off I was able to rent the Dewalt impact from my local equipment rental place for less than $20 for roughly 4 hours.

Torque had three settings. Zipped the bolt right off, put it to the second torque setting & zipped it back on to roughly the 200ish lb. ft. Made is super easy peasy.

I tried Oreilly's and Autozone but they unfortunately do not carry this item.

 

Maybe Home Depot for impact driver........Or buy a 2 foot long piece of angle iron. Drill 2 holes to bolt to balancer in pulley holes. This hits either the ground or the frame. Works for removing or re-torqueing. Cheap, fast and easy. The larger nuts you see are just to space bar from the balancer lip.

Do you have an equipment rental around you? Like a Sunstate, United Rentals, or a local place? Places where they rent engine hoists, yard tillers, uni-loaders, or that kind of stuff? That’s where I rented mine. Cordless to boot.
