That was awesome. I even kinda liked the “no need for a big burnout” when you have a ton of weight to transfer!

Funny thing is that, the Electra is about 40lbs. lighter than the Mopar according to published specs i've seen. Might have been the difference in that race.

I am guessing about 12.60 - 12.70. But I am also curious the actual time.
    Still very impressed

Actually, the best run that day was 11.47 @118. Traction was not good starting out in the day be got better as rubber got laid down and temps came up. Could not get into full throttle until right before sifting into 2nd. Finally decided to flog it from the hole and I snapped the Axles in 1/2.. done for the day. I really thinking's a perfect world and a tail wind, this thing is hovering on high 10's if I could launch it hard. Best 60' easing it out of hole is 1.78, improve on and loose some weight maybe? I had absolutely toped off tank of fuel, completely full. I just don't want to gut the car, it is full weight and such a nice car.

I weighed the Electra and was 4660 on the scales with some crap in trunk

Are there any axles that exist that are strong enough for the task?

Im running a 9" ford out of a early 70's Lincoln continental, I was using the stock 28 spline axles with a True Track Posi. I knew it was just a matter of time before I hammered them, Tom Wagner told me this would happen :). I just swapped them out to 35 spline and that should do the trick.

Stk 28 spline 9," axles are very weak....weaker than our buick factory axles.......had a customer break a set in 41 Plymouth that has 355 SBC chevy in it. Was running 12.0s at that time
