This was at US-13 Dragway in Delaware this fall, a few passes before a rod let go. The best run to date was 10.96 at 124.1. 7.01 at 99.1 in the 1/8 mile.

Nick I'd love to be able to tell you exactly how much better this billet intake is compared to a cast aluminum one. However, while I had the engine torn apart I also swapped in one of JW's Tri-Shield converters with 4800-5000 stall. I'm also using a new Pro-Systems SV-1 carb with the intake. So instead of making only one change at a time I made at least three. I also found out that the 3rd gear bands and drum were wiped out...

What I can tell you is this: all 6 of the runs I've made on the new combination are faster in mph and E.T. than any run I previously made. Everything is still fresh too.
I haven't done any timing or jetting changes trying to optimize my setup yet either.

Best of all are all of the Oooh's and Aaaahh's when people are checking out the intake.
That has to worth at least a 1/10! ;)
I've also been running the car without a hood and that could be slowing me down...

It is without a doubt a work of art!
Kudos to Rob G. at Precision Billet!!

That intake is sexy as hell, I would have to get it in unpolished because I wouldn't have enough time in life to keep it clean.

But I'm sure in the upper rpms it has to be better than an sp2, but if you want to do a back to back we can work that out.

Doesn't matter not like anyone wouldn't want that on their motor over a cast sp2, even if it was slower

9.48 @ 158mph. But that was on a snowmobile back in ‘99ish in a limited at weight 1,ooocc pro stock class at B.I.R. Yes we won that year...on a hole shot.

Dont have a pic of my best but some easy math shows potential.

    Only 1/4 mile pass was a 10.62 at 125.5 with a slow 1.478 60'........6.72 at 101 in the 1/8.

Later after some tuning and good air we went 6.57 at 103.74 in the 1/8.....have a pass some where, cant find it not it went 6.52 at 104 with a similar 1.43 60ft..

I thinking it should be low 10.40s maybe upper 30s at 128-129ish

Simple 464, about 12:1, te2 head with finishline cnc port and custom cam from them, sp2 1050, 5000ish stall 4.30 gears 29x10 Hoosiers, 3625 car and driver, house built th400 column shift

When I bought it from Rob, he said it wasn't any slower than his SP2 but that was all he could confirm. He never really dialed it in because he switched his heads and intake and sold it to me.;)
I remember him saying something about the "Wow" factor too. It would have to be obviously slowing him (me) down in order to yank it for something more mundane.

It still looks pretty sexy even when it needs polished!

You only missed your dial in by about 3/10th's, at least you were much faster not much slower.

Hahaha, that was the first day out with the double adjustable shocks on all 4 corners, and the new brakes. I was takinging big swings to get somewhat in the ball park. The car was more like a young bucking bronco only pulling mid 1.50s in the 60'. Thst pass it hooked somewhat better. The plan for the day was to be testing shocks.....running to the 660 and lifting............so the 10.90 was a toss up number I knew it would cover just to get the 1 last pass if the night in........well that person went red and I saw it, just launched not even waiting for the green, then it somewhat hooked so I just stayed in it.......the full pass was totally unplanned.......I think we had 4 660 passes that time on the new shocks and brakes........I were glad they worked too.

Cant wait till I get a chance at another full pass.

The guy at the et shack asked why I was holding 3/10ths. I told him I wasnt, the car finially hooked

Not fast enough for me either John!

How many racers are actually content with how fast they are?
I would guess that most want to go faster.

I keep thinking if I could get down to 8.50 then I'd be content. YellowBullet has an 8.50 class and I would love to get some Buick power in that class.
Then I'd probably start eyeballing some 8.oh's....

206 in the 1/8th with a 392 now we have a 560 with more boost should be an ok ride.
We should be running in the Pro-6.0 class this year. Can't wait to get back in the car. I need to shake off some of this past years bad and take our Son's project into to 225 mph and beyond. See everyone in five months or so.

Tire smoke, racing gas, and all of the sights and sounds and smells at the race track are a great way to clear the head. And the heart...
Keep us posted with your progress John.

This just shows me I still have something wrong with my combo, converter, cam something. We had similar quarter times but you spanked me out the hole........ and I have alot more heads, so something in there just isn't adding up.

What's your car weight and gears

Yep. That's on 87 octane/w 87 and a giant spray of washer fluid

That's not a track time. That's ALL day long.

I sold it because that was wise
