dad and have been saying it for while it almost makes sense as far as just plain racing goes.....where if what you want is to down the track for as easy as possable buy a crate motor bbc....race it for a few years, have a warranty, sell it with 1 year left on warranty for 50-60% of investment and buy another.
no one warranties our bbb motors...so you wait your 2-5 years to get your motor fully down, them 5 passes later something goes wrong and it takes another 2 years to get it fixed.

Tom I think I'm with you in what we have come up with.........our motor now should run low 10s, ims going to get it there to get my best slip for my person who, then back it down to 10.70s to not have to wring the life out of it.

my motor is only a 464. but I'm almost certain based on getting mid 11.30 out a complete bone stk botton end 430, and same times with a 9 5:1 455 both with same iron head......I could bolt my TE2 head onto a stk bottom and get into the 10s all on pump gas and race on a budget.

most of us only bracket race and it's either a box or no box class......either way it's the same pay for whatever class either your the fastest car or slowest.

I really think my next big investment will not be in a bigger better motor but spend money to get a feather light car that will launch hard on beach sand

Need the billet for the power level we will be at.
Should have been about 16 weeks. Wayyyy past that now.

That has really been my gripe since day one. We have the block and nothing else. What's the point. I know this may be unpopular but why are we even talking about 350 parts when we can't get parts for the holy grail Tomahawk block?

Julian, do you have any idea how much it cost
Julian, do you have any idea how much it cost to reach 400 CFM with the heads currently available I hate to tell you how much I have in my heads converting them to jessel valve train or TAndD whatever your choice is. It is extremely expensive and at the end can you drive it on the street?I know the other manufactures you can buy a head that flows better then that out of the box bold it on and drive it down the street on a pump gas motor I highly doubt you can do that with our stuff in fact I know you can’t. I’m in no way taken away anything from Gary’s accomplishment with his car it is very impressive however that would not stand up to drag week or driving it on the street.

Getting a head to flow higher than normal us always going to cost money. It's actually pioneer roadwork to have the way.

It's always easy to go with the masses and trust me, I was actually thinking of going Clevor. But I love Buicks and always have and it's different.

And yes there are days I get like you guys. The other day I found that Pontiac forum that talks how great the Buick guys are doing when they found out we broke a thousand horsepower. That woke me up you see that the other makes her cheering for us.

I don't know if the stage 6 or the wildcat will ever come to fruition like the stage 2 and eldebrock heads are... I still wish but I do know that the priority was the 350 heads before the stage 6 heads. I am pleased with Wildcat heads are starting their testing phase.

But for certain we don't have enough valve for the size bore that we want to run. Running a small 2.25-226 valve on a 4.5" bore..

You might want to look at those crate engine warranty if you race it.

Julian, no crate motor needed I know exactly what I need to do with the factory iron block a light reciprocating assembly 11 to 1 compression ported Edelbrock heads a good cam 10’s are no problem drive it to the racetrack and drive it home fun all day long !

Tom, I’m a guy that will eventually in the market for JW and TA hi po parts, but what is the cost of Scott browns CNC program for the Edelbrock heads?

I could yes. I also assumed that CNC is close to the end-all be-all of porting. If a CNC program was conservatively developed for iron heads, would it sell?

I’ll most likely port them myself

I heard good things about Scott Brown although I’ve never had seen him advertise or have seen anything about his prices on C&C porting. As far as porting cast-iron heads I really don’t see why anybody would mess with cast-iron when you can purchase the Edelbrock heads at a reasonable cost and they will far exceed the iron heads

It's 1250 to CNC with Scott.

It's on his website. I just typically email him.. he has flow figures there

per Scott's website eddy heads are 1250 for port work if you supply the heads, 3996 to buy the head too

    https://www.buyracingparts.com/cnc-ported-heads/cnc-ported-buick-cylinder-heads-1.html

he did the cnc port on my TE2 HEADS flow number included. mine still use the basic roller rockers these were the smaller stem, 2.250/1.755 valves.

there are a few very small areas the cnc cutting did not touch the casting so not sure how much more reshaping can be done. I know I can see the liner tubes in a few ares..........not sure what it takes to go from here to 400+, but I think I'm as about as far ad my budget let's me go motor wise. maybe someday later when the kids get older thing might change. I'm hopefully the bigger parts start coming in sooner.

i could be wrong but I thought most of the cam cores produced were by 1 of 3 main companies, Camshaft Machine Company of Jackson, MI. Engine Power Components of Muskegon, MI and Waver Bartel Cam Company, of Grand Haven, MI.

8 or more month sounds like a long time to get just a core. be nice to find out where the ball is being dropped

Thanks for the offer but we are waiting on a billet 4.25 stroke. Going moderate bore and stroke for boost.
