Fwiw,..I talked to Tom at Molnar for probably an hour combined about these and his product in particular, asked him bluntly why his rods are half the price of Manley,Carrillo,Oliver etc and his answer without hesitation was overhead and marketing. They get $1500 for the same rod because they can, they have a name that carries them. The name and reputation were earned no doubt, but he insist his product is no different and even better in some areas. He was an designer at Oliver for years and started the rod company "K1" for those that may not know. At $655 shipped, I'm giving his product a try. I know JW and Mike at Wildcat Engines sing nothing but praises about them.....

$1400 worth of pistons, pins and rings,..Crower crank should be here very soon. Then off to P.A.R here in Spartanburg for machine work and assembly. Settled in a 511cid , 9.8ish compression, pistons came in at 644 grams, rods are pretty lite too, so it should swing pretty quick. Not sure if I mentioned in this thread or not, but the Procharger is gone and I'm now going twin turbo. Here's a recent pic with the intake all welded up. IMG_20180407_152119911.jpg Fuel rails and coolant crossover setup are next,.

Got so much happening at once and have for so long, not sure when I'll see the light at the end , but I'll get there. Realistically it's probably 2years away, but the older I get the more patient I become, should be the other way around I guess ha, but i hope to get the other frame ready to go back under the car this summer, and then I can start building turbo setup

Man, that is some seriously potent looking aluminum goodness!!
I don’t think I can wait two years for you to finish
so I know it’s gonna be hard for you!! Awesome!!

Does anyone know what the HP limit is on the Tomahawk?
What's the highest number anyone has heard of?
1800-2000 sounds like such a big number!!
(Not that I’m looking to push that number higher myself, just wondering)

    Looks Great Ethan!!

And to be honest I don't see myself pushing it to those numbers, but the capability is there. Im going to set it around 1200 to 1300 at the crank and let it be. Engine will make 700 NA I'm sure, so 15lbs will produce 1400 mathematically. As far as who is making the most rite now, probably either Rod or one of them tractor pull guys there some of them that have had some serious Buick engines for years. I'm sure Ken Betts billet head screw blower setup will be way up there in power. If I had disposable income I would certainly go for 3500 with twin pro mod 94's or something but this had better last me a long time Im working with a shoestring budget and do without a lot of things so I can build Buicks. I duct tape my shoes together, and eat pinto beans 3 nights a week on occasion ha
