Any custom piston, one set at at a time is about $800 or so with out rings

Mike I have talked to you befoe about this. I am giving it serious thought as I have the TA roller and I think I will have to cut my current cast flat tops some to use this cam as my deck is at .000, My problem is my engine is at .040 now and I don't want to go larger and would hope that the skirt clearance would be close.

    Jim,
I may be able to get a set at a different size.

Wth the flat tops will you still have to cut the block .100 to get them top the top of the cylinder?

No, they will have a 1.875 CD

Which is 0.075 taller than the factory pistons I am pretty sure. And much taller than most aftermarket pistons which tend to be lower than stock.

I paid about $800 for my Venolias also by the time you counted in the extras. They were not slipper style though and did have thicker crowns for the blower motor. 3/4" wrist pins and custom compression height. Teflon buttons (wouldn't do that again, they are heavy.) Custom dish. Next time I'll go for slipper style.

So what is the lead time on the 9.6 comp pistons? My 350 is at the machine shop now, will probably ordering pistons next week, are these available now?

This is an old post. Mike has retired. Look at buyracingparts.com
Scott Brown is making Pistons. Nice stuff . I’m not sure if he has them in stock so email him soon to find out wait times. Mine where about 2. Months. But they where custom pin and size

Because they raised the price on the Buick pistons, those LS AutoTec pistons would work as a base for a sbb 350 piston, would just need to change the diameter and the compression distance.

They raised the sbb piston price because they are now having the stupid Buick .940" wristpins made which increased the price another $50! If someone wants to do a stroker with the nascar take out rods they don't need those $50 extra costing wristpins so those LS pistons are a way around not having to pay for those Buick only pins if you are not going to use them anyway.

The Autotech pistons we got custom ordered through Scott Brown were $780.00 with rings, and pins.

Was that because of the exchange rate and shipping to the Great White North?

    Yeah...no.
That $780.00 was in US funds, so Tac on another 30% for us lucky Canadians.
