Dear Mike and fans of V-8 Buicks good [IMG] and bad! [IMG]

Well I've always thought of my trusty wagon as a "good" (if assertive) Buick, but I've set our TIVO DVR to record the premiere tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing it! [IMG]

    Thanks for the head's up! . . . [IMG]

I had the day off work, thankfully I wasn't even up by 8am, plus with our spectrum both those channels are not standard so we don't get them

Watched it and it was about 5-7 minutes and detailed on how he bought a 72 Riv for $2500 and upgraded the engine. He shows all the parts that he will add over stock, takes everything off the engine while still in the car, then puts all the new parts on it. Does not pull engine and at $2500 you have to wonder what shape the 455 was in internally but that did not seem to matter. Great commercial for TA Performance using their parts, Edelbrock, and a few other brands. Not sure if we will every see the Riv again or this was just an advertisement for T A and perhaps they paid for the car and show time. Did not hear the car run and over all while a solid looking car it needed paint, vinyl top, probably interior but we may never see it again.

I like Stacey's show as it seems straightforward and no neck, head and arm tattoos, no hair everywhere, and every other word not a cuss word! I can watch it with my grandson and feel good about it and talk about cars.:D

Was suppose to have been rebuilt 30,000 miles ago, but looking at brutal amount of slop on the timing chain he pulled off I wouldn't think it was..

Dear Mike, Chuck, Peter, and V-8 Buick fans in search of good television,

I don't know what TA-Performance contributed to the show, but I have a feeling they didn't have anything do to with the choice of car. After all, I know that Mike Tomaszewski has the same fondness that Chuck and I do. So if Mike had chosen the car . . . . . .

    I think it would have been a wagon! . . . :)

Yes that bothered me also. The premise of this episode was that this was an example of a modest upgrade that someone who was new to restoration could take on. Having gone to the trouble of putting on the new parts at least they should have gotten the engine running. It could have been shown during the closing credits so that they wouldn't lose any advertising time.

Point well taken, but indeed it is sad that a clean show is now the exception instead of the rule.

    Cheers, Edouard
