I saw Moleary's sticky and checked my car. Crawled under the car and lunch and I don't think I have the drilled hole for the ball stud. I looked at an Old Pontiac 389 I have laying around and it got me questioning myself. On the Pontiac it uses a hole in the location of the one to the right of what he is pointing to in the picture below. Id just like to see it to see it installed to make sure I dont have it. If I had the hole I was going to try to run mechanical linkage with my 6 speed, but if I don't, I'll be going the Hydraulic route. Thanks in advance.

If its a 350 Buick, its quite possible the hole was never drilled. Ive seen quite a few with no hole. Ive drilled and tapped a few blocks. Measure twice and drill once. Its not that hard. All you need is a template or some really good measurement off a 350 with a factory tapped hole.

Its a 455. Hoping its on there. I was in a hurry and should have checked better. I'd like to run the Mechanical linkage if possible.

I have my engine out at the moment so took a couple pictures for you. Hope they help. I've had two '72 long blocks that both had it drilled and tapped as well as the crank drilled for a pilot bushing. One of the engines is the number matching one for my '72 Centurion, so it doesn't seem they picked and chose very much, at least in '72 (the other came out of an Electra, but I can't say for sure it was an original engine).

  7. Without a bellhousing or flywheel on the crank, there's a rounded boss you can see where the ball stud threads should be tapped.

Oh, sorry for the confusion, I will replace that photo with a better one to be clear that it's the back hole by the bell housing stud. :spank:

Wouldn't bother me at all if you want to copy/use my photo's.

Do you mind sharing the source of the manual parts you plan on using?

Are you using all NOS, OEM, Repop and,or some combo thereof?

Oem pedals zbar and push rods. Aftermarket zbar bracket. QuickTime scatter shield. T56. I already know I am going to have some alignment issues with the lower pushrod and will have to put a couple bends in it.
