That car is badass, Doug! Are there any good pics of it on this site somewhere? Any details on the engine..............that you are willing to tell.

Yeah Alan, I can't imagine the chassis/rollcage upgrades needed to certify it down to 7.50 could cost a dime less than five grand. I guess that's what 0% interest credit cards are for, right? In case you hadn't noticed...snovertime is done for the year!

Using my own words against me, eh? Shrewd, very shrewd. :TU:

Cool Doug!! Good to see 8s right out of the box! Were you able to get your helmet off alright?
That motor will surely pick up with a few runs on it too. Better work on that light though....:spank::laugh::spank:
Hey....good to see you at 300.....still that's two of me.

Thanks. Badass is what I was going for! I'm attaching a few pics.
It's got a 4.400 stroke Moldex billet crank with GRP rods and 4.500 bore with Diamond pistons for 560". Compression is 14.3:1
Cam is a TA 55mm roller aprox .900 lift. Specs are proprietary as per Scotty Guadagno. Stage2 TE heads ported by TA flow 380cfm intake and 240cfm exhaust. Manley Valves 2.25 intake and 1.75 exhaust. T&D billet steel roller rockers from TA. I forget if the ratio is 1.65 or 1.70. maybe Mike can chime in on that if reads this. This winter we swapped out my massively ported SP2 intake manifold (from 1992) out and bolted on a ported SPX. It picked up over 60hp and it doesn't have nearly as much work done to it as my old SP2! I run a ten year old 9377 1150 Dominator and a twenty year old MSD 7AL3 ignition.

Thanks for the pics and text, Doug. Always neat to see what all you fast guys are running. Mine is pretty mild in comparison.

    Doug,
Congrats on the reductions (your weight and your E.T.)!

Update... I had longer upper wheelie bars fabricated yesterday at C&F racecars in upstate NY. They used thicker chromoly tubing than my old bars and made them adjustable at both ends, which is nice. My old bars were spring loaded and only adjusted at the front end of the bars, up on the rear end housing. That's was a real pain in the ass. Got my other trans in the car at Stage 1 Auto, which should calm the launch down due to the 1.76 1st gear, as opposed to the 1.89 gearset that's in the trans that came out of the car. Rob Chilenski scaled the car and helped me with the 4-link adjustment so the car should go straight, instead of trying to scoot to the right.
I'm planning on getting back out to the track a week from Sunday.

If the race program and payouts were controlled by the BPG (which they aren't) then I'd answer your question by asking, "have you paid your 2015 dues?" to fund the payouts .. which you haven't ...

... so its a good thing you didn't ask. Sorry for the misdirect Doug but considering .. I didn't think you'd mind

Bruce - you'll have to ask Roberta or Bill about payouts for the race program in the appropriate thread or just come out and have fun watching the Wheelie King win it all

Do you know how much work it was to get the SPX to fit up with the tall port head ?

Let's start with this statement from Scotty..."If I'd have know what a pain in the ass it was gonna be, I wouldn't have done it!"
Now, on the bright side...since it worked so well Mike said he's going to make an SPX for the tall port heads. Just don't expect to have one this week, or next. Or the week after.
Rob Giroux at Precision Billet made the adapter plates and they are sweet, like everything else he makes.
As to the specifics of fitting it, you'd have to talk to Rob and/or Scotty because I didn't do it, I just paid for it. :TU:

Geeez, sorry my BPG membership lapsed a few months....just paid 2015. Still....it would be good to get some payout info out there to jump start racers to get their acts together. Only a little over a month away......

Looking forward to it! Should be great event and some stiff competition!

Working on a two pronged approach this year....my son Matt will run JAGUICK (finally!) on friday in the gamblers race and I'll be running Sunday.....

Very nice first pass Doug. To answer on the rockers, I think they were 1.69 ratio. And the SP-X, I thought Scott had put a B-1 on your engine until a few weeks ago. Peak horse power improvement over your SP-2 was 47 HP not 65. On the down side of the power band at where ever Scott stopped pulling, lets say 7500rpm, the SP-X was 65 HP over the SP-2, both loosing power but the SP-X hung in better. Still more power even on the down side. Now I also don't think your SP-2 was doing it's best based on what I seen port work wise in the plenum. Your intake was ported out like I have never seen before and I do believe the divider entry's were to thin and to sharp. I have not started any work on a new intake yet. Getting ready to machine the first run of SP-3 for the 350. Tom Roberts is working hard on the 350 cylinder head pattern. He has also been picking away at the new BBB head.
I thought I had you covered but now I'm not so sure.

What's the race weight now Doug?

    Mike,
Now that you mention the 1.69 rocker ratio I remember it now.
I've got the before and after dyno sheets in front of me....we're both wrong but I'm a lot closer...it was a 60 HP difference!
SP2 maxed out with 848.1 HP at 6600 rpm.
SPX maxed out with 908.1 HP at 6900 rpm.
The highest recorded rpm on ANY dyno pull was 7000.
    I doubt I'm a threat to your number, didn't you run 8.38?
I don't think even the magic Autumn air at Cecil County will get me there....but you know you're first call I'll make if I beat that number! :TU:
