I've been working on this project for the last month or so. This is a 50xxx mile car that the current owner's father bought in the early 60's. It had been stored for 25 years, and he pulled it out of the warehouse it had been buried in, and resurrected it. The paint was not original, and the colors were just not right. We found out that the top color was too blue, and the bottom color was too green. I sourced modern paint codes with the help of Sean Ryder, and they are a dead on match to the original colors. Under the side trim, the original colors still remained...also in the door jambs. So there was no question as to whether we had it right or not. I plan to have the car in paint by the end of the week. All of the stainless trim will be restored. The stripe in the sweepspear trim is supposed to be blue, not the gawdy orange/red that is currently there. We have also sourced a piece of trim with the original blue paint on it, and I will be matching it so I can buy the right color. New chrome on door handles, all the scripts, hood emblem, etc. The bumpers are in good shape, but the front bumper ends will be replaced with NOS. I have a rechromed hood bar and an NOS grille ($$$$$$$!). This will be a sharp car when complete! Once I get done with it, the owner is going to replace the carpet and headliner. He's also planning to redye the seat fabric, since the cloth portion has faded to almost completely grey.
It is pretty rare. We had a difficult time trying to find a piece of trim that was original with the right color. There was also an aqua color available.
Looks like the lower color on this Roadmaster. I don't see any color strip at all in the sweepspear on yours.

Buffing was completed this afternoon...and I had a big box of chrome staring at me, so I went to town on a few things. Tomorrow, the drip rail goes on, as well as the outer window sweeps. If I have the patience, I will work on the rear and front windshield surrounds.
Stainless is polished and painted...I just need to run to the supply store in the morning and buy more clips.
I can't quite read the numbers on the clock in the reflection. Maybe you could polish the car up some more? J/K, this is an awesome cleanup and paint!
Time for bumpers and grille...I just have to clean up some of the black parts in front of the radiator before I bolt the grille on, though.
NOS grille and rehcromed bar installed! The bumper is ready to install, I just have to recruit a buddy to help with that one.
