Hey Guys, I had some overheating issues over the weekend and now want to convert to an aluminum radiator. I have found direct replacements for a 61 and above, but nothing for a 60. Any suggestions? Thanks, Matt
why did it overheat. a good copper rad you should not have any issues. did you boil your tstat in a sauce pan with a thermometer to see if it is opening. I would reverse the flush the heater core and the radiator.
Are you certain that the radiator is the cause of your overheating? Under what circumstances did it overheat? I'm not sure what the difference in radiators is between '60 and '61, but you can also go with a universal aluminum radiator from Jegs or Summit. That's what I did. They are available from many different manufacturers, although I'd probably go with Griffen.
Sitting in traffic for roughly an hour is when it started shooting a little bit of steam from 2 pin holes on top of the radiator. Later that night my reservoir cap popped off and it looked like a locomotive when I opened my hood.
get the copper/brass radiator rebuilt ask around at Trucking companies where they get their radiators rebuilt
wouldnt it cost just as much? alum can be found around 200. unless he is dead set on oem look id go alum.
