I just wanted to write a note so anyone looking to do business with Jim Wiese has some more feedback. I ordered a set of custom Diamond pistons for my 430 through Jim. The wait has been longer than expected, because of how busy they are. Nothing to do with Jim. They should be here in the next few days. Dealing with Jim has been fantastic. He helped me through all the steps of getting the right pistons for my application, and is never too busy to talk to me when I call to bug him because im anxious to get them. He is extremely knowledgeable on Buicks, and we are lucky to have him around. So thanks Jim, you are the man, and if anyone wants to do business with Tri Shield... DONT THINK TWICE! Brandon
Better watch that Jim guy. I bought a tranny from him and no matter how hard I tried I just couldn't break it. Same with the converter.
I heard he's now building "FE" and "385" series engines, with the occasional "Y" block tossed in for spits and giggles.:laugh:
You can't trust him Brandon! I bought a set of what were supposed to be "used" hood hinges from Jim and they looked like they were NOS when I got them. You can imagine my disappointment.
Delays are inevitable in engine building, and restoration. That is expected. No one knows that better than me:laugh: I've never had any trouble getting a hold of Jim. Sometimes, I have to leave a voice mail message, but he gets right back to me promptly. Jim is a perfectionist, and he surrounds himself with like minded people. I've never been disappointed by the quality of work coming out of Tri-Shield. Top notch all the way. Thanks Jim.:TU:
Larry that was a long time ago and what happens in the tub...well you know. The term "release the kraken" does Come to mind though. D & B
I dunno .. had him build me a motor back in 2005 and I've tried everything possible to break it - drag racing, long highway trips, tearing up the neighborhood - yet I still cant get it to break nine years later ... and the worst part it - every time I go to the track it gets faster and faster. How am supposed to bracket race and dial in a time if it keeps going faster ?
Jim at Tri Shield is the best decision I ever made when putting my build together. An extremely knowledgeable, honest business man who goes out of his way to see you get what you need and continues to help you even after the engine or restoration has left his shop. Always there for help. I don't honestly know how he does it. Bless you Jim. On The Eighth Day God Created Buick ( Maybe I should change that to On The Eighth Day Buick Created Jim at Tri Shield )
I guess I'm goin thru a Gorge Washington phase but I cannot tell a lie . Every time I've ask this Jim guy a ??? I've always got the best info and he's been real helpful thru my learning phase with my dummy ???'s
