    Ok,
    Do we have any?
If not, who will be first to crack the magic 1000hp BBB NA?

Probably won't make it with the 6:71 sitting on top belt disconnected, but we will try over 900 with the pro charger. Problem is with that since it is crank and gear drive not really a good way to disconnect it. Any of these motors should put out 1150-1250 on Alcohol with the billet heads that are coming!

What about Scotty G back in the day with his regal before he sold it ?Never heard any power numbers, but im sure it was way up there.

I wonder who will be the first to crack the 1000hp naturally? I will be probably around 80hp short

In a car show, where we all get together,a new Camaro comes in.I go to look at it after a while and on the rear quarters he has {1.200 HP }.On the radiator cover he has a time slip 9.38 -151 MPH.Bobb from Finish Line on TV went 8.45 getting off in the last 300 feet. Both cars are heavy, both with a Pro-charger.The Camaro's block did say that it was a 454 I guess not the original motor and Bobbs is a 530CI.What I'm saying,if the Camaro went that fast with 1.200 HP,the Buick must have around 1.400 HP or more.So much for passing the 1000 HP threshold .By the way Scotty, from PG performance fame,on muscle ,in '93 in EngleshTown went 7.60 with his 91 regal. The car probably weighted around 2000 pd or less.I wonder what the HP on that was.BrunoD.

I'm around 820 with a factory block. Wish I could afford to build a 900 plus HP TA motor, (but I can't). It would be nice to put my car in the 8's!!
    Maybe someday!!

I am referring to naturally aspirated 1000hp

I'd say unless it's with a new block, bring a dust pan to sweep up the parts from a factory block.:)

The TA Performance Wagon should be a touch over 900 hp. Best run of 8.99 @ 149 and I think the weight was around 3400, might even be more than that. Highly modified stock block (525 ish cid), prototype but outdated heads, dual dominators, 116 octane gasoline, roller cam, etc.

Thats why I asked who would be first, as some of the TA455 blocks are running.

I've built quite a few oil pans for the Tomahawk block and I've only heard of or seen a few of them running. I wonder why? My guess would be that it's the same reason I don't have one yet....$$$$$. Work is good and all, but it just seems to be tougher to do the things I would like to do financially.

I hope to see more of them running by next season and would love to hear back from more customers. The few comments I've heard so far are all positive! :TU:

I'd guess Bob Ortolani's (TORQUED455) GSX to be around 900 hp. His car is heavy and has gone 9.5x's.

I think you maybe right on the $$$ front Steve. Once I get my shrortblock from TA, I still have carburetors(E85) to purchase, chambers to relieve, fab some bracketry etc. so I am hoping for mid next year to be running. Mike told my they are honing the block.
I also here Mike is very busy with a lot of other projects as well.

Hey Steve, my problem has been time, not money, for once. As in, the time it takes to get all of this crap together from this guy and that guy. I've been putting money aside for quite awhile for this project, so that part hasn't slowed me down...it's just the stupid delays!! I want to do it right and not rush it onto the track, but it's been like watching paint dry! At least my oil pan and valve covers were done and delivered in timely fashion! THANKS!!
As far as HP numbers, I'm not pushing for 1,000 because with my car I don't need that much HP to get me where I want to be....8.50s. At least with this new block I can upgrade the power later on if I want to. 900 will do it for now.

I will know in one week. Scheduled for the dyno next tuesday. Still finishing up the engine assembly. This will be a single carb, normally aspirated, on Q16 then some possible pulls on methanol.

Good luck Bruce. Looking forward to hear your results...I'm jealous!! I think I need to light a bigger fire under Bobbs' a##! I'm hoping my little 475ci will make 750-800, then add in the 2 stages of nitrous, when I do get to dyno mine, if I don't see 1100+ hp, I'll probably be upset.
