I installed them on my '72 last night (these lights are cool!). There was plenty of room between the lip and the board on my car. If flipped backwards, the lip would have been in the way.

Glad to know it was only my mistake LOL! :Dou:

The boards are marked left and right on the back side. Is it possible you might have gotten them switched? :Do No:

I had the drivers and passengers on their correct side but realized when I plugged in the power that the passenger side was upside down when I did my original test fitting. Thinking back now I think that I just went with the passenger side when making the decision to trim the lips. Glad no one else has to!

I almost snipped the lips on my housings to start with, but decided to wire up the boards for a test run first because I wasn't sure which direction they blinked. Maybe I just got lucky when I didn't have to remove them. I can't remember if my '71's housings had the lips or not.

The hardest part for me was the initial removal of the lenses. The rubber bumper pieces make clearance difficult on a '72. Also, I had to add my own little piece of yellow wire for the right side board to reach where I cut into the wiring harness inside the trunk on the driver's side. Other than that, it was pretty straight forward and the results are just cool.

I made this little video for my Facebook friends.

I guess now I need to post a video of my FRONT LED's to get Spaghetti Engineering to start on those, huh? :Brow:

LOL! Yeah, your ingenuity started the whole thing - thanks! :TU:

To be honest, I'm not sure front LEDs are for me. Not unless they are directional too, but that might be borderline tacky with the relatively narrow lenses up front. But, I'd like to see someone post a video of that. So, feel free, Dean.

The best way I've found to get those pesky lenses out when they're stuck is like this:
    1. Remove the screws. (duh)
    2. Using a small phillips head screw driver that fits the screw holes, stick the screw driver in the hole, and wiggle the whole lens back and forth.

With a little pressure, the lens should come loose without taking the chance of breaking the outer edges.

Just got mine put in. Wow did that take a lot longer than I figured it would. Did anybody else have any problems with the instructions not matching up with the wires in the car?

    Hi Logan,
What issue did you have with the wires? All the colors mentioned in the instructions matched up with my Buick's wires. The only wiring issue I had was that I forgot to wire in the license plate plate which I did afterwards.

The wires running to my side marker lights were a different color than what they had listed. When I had them wired the way they wanted them, they would signal, but not stay on with the parking lights. I got it figured out, but I wasn't sure if anybody else had anything similar happen.

    >>My side marker lights had brown wiring like listed in the instructions - I wound up using a three way connector though to include the side marker lights wiring, license plate wiring, and the LED board wiring all together.

I have the Spagetti LED kit in my Grand National, which can be set to sequential or non-sequential. Can you do this with the Skylark kit?

    >>Yes, there is a switch on the LED board where you can choose the setting.
