New GSCA M/T headers

Discussion in 'Parts for sale' started by collector, Feb 4, 2011.

  1. Hey guys,
I am interested in a set of these so I sent the "Collector" a message a week or two ago.

    Here is our conversation:

Are these still available and when will they be in production?

    Thanks,

Hi Matt -- These are available and will be going into production in the next few weeks. They had trouble getting quality steel mid-way through the run and it is ordered and should be arriving shortly. Seems like nothing anymore goes according to plan but it looks like we are on the home stretch. If you want to send a deposit of, say, $200 I will put you down for a set. You can ayPal me at buick455@juno.com or get back to me for mailing addresss. Thanks!

It would be good to get an update. I'm sure there are more waiting to order.

First off, no mob here. I am not mad but just stated that I had a feeling these would not make it in time. I have been waiting for these headers to install my engine but probably will just put it in and forget about them until later this year. I'm paid up in full so they are mine and I still want them.
As for the last post, if they have run into a manuf. problem they should at least let us know with a simple update in this thread. I am sure John will come through in the end. Was just hoping for one time things would have gone according to plan.

Thanks for posting my message about the problem with the latest inferior metal they received. They did in fact send out 25 sets about 3 weeks ago but stopped production until they got the raw material in that they were willing to use. They had the same problem about a year ago when they were doing a run for M/T headers for Chevelles. The latest word that I heard was that the orders should be filled within the next 3-4 weeks. Stuff beyond our control, and it sure does seem like this is common anymore and none of us like it. I hate being caught in the middle of it since I was just helping out while the GSCA was on vacation. But, rest assured they are coming and there are still some available. I apologize for the delay, and also for the fact that I have been very busy the last month or so and haven't seen this thread update, and I should have been doing the update! If any of you are very much needing a set of these, I have a NOS set from years back that I could sell you in the meantime ( the chrome plated ones ) in liew of the sets coming. Any of you that have reserved a set and need them now, please post here according to the rules here and I will sell them to whoever is first in line and we can work it out.

thanks John ... and thats a mighty fine offer to sell your own set.

I'd take you up on it, but I've been the chrome route before ... and BigRed has had JetHot redone 3 times on their dime - think I'll wait it out and see how this finish works out :Do No:

I don't have access to the GSXtra either. Could someone just pass on the information. I'm holding off until mid June to install my engine. Maybe these will be here by then.:Dou:

I just called and talked to Richard Lasseter:

For GSCA Clubmembers ONLY: ALL MT headers ordered thru the GSCA have been shipped, AS WAS DISCUSSED IN THE GSXTRA.

Any questions GSCA 229-244-0577, Give them a call, simple as that.

***** For non-GSCA Clubmembers: Call John Chamberlain. If you ordered from John Chamberlain then the GSCA isnt involved with your order and cannot answer your questions. Totally different deal. *****

    Better Roberta? :beer

Since this thread was started by J.C., and he was handling this for v8Buick members, I really don't even understand why you posted at all. :Dou:

Same ole Jim Rodgers. These headers are available to ANYONE and you can clearly see in the original post I made that I took over for Richard while he was on vacation. I talked to Richard yesterday and he talked to the header people yesterday and they PROMISED within 4 weeks they will be ready. Regardless of what Jim Rodgers says, you can contact either the GSCA or myself for the straight scoop. Don't listen to anyone else, several people here have agendas and they will never change, and most of us know who they are.:beers2:

I never said anyone couldnt contact the GSCA. I simply said that if they ordered the headers from you (non GSCA memebrs), then they needed to contact you for updates. Richard said himself that he doesnt know what you discussed on any headers you accepted money for, and that he didnt know what delivery promises you made or didnt make. He said that the headers you accepted deposits on were your deal. Again, I never said that anyone couldnt call Richard to discuss, but, per Richard, that it would be best to call you.

That came straight from Richards mouth, sorry if you have a problem with it. You might want to call Richard.

John, people were coming here looking for answers from the GSCA, and you and I both know this isnt the place to get answers from the GSCA. And knowing that you are relocating and busy with personal issues at the moment, I tried to help out in your absence.

If you have a problem with it, agendas or not, then so be it.

    Sure you did

certainly, "anyone" is not inclusive in "GSCA club members only"

... but thanks for the help in John's absence to respond.

    Alan,

    You are welcome my friend.

Incidently, "For GSCA Clubmembers only" was only in reference as to whose headers have been shipped already. Thats why there was a period after that sentence, to clarify whose headers have been shipped. I didnt want everyone who dealt with John thinking their headers had shipped and jumping up and down because they had not received them yet. Richard said that all headers sold thru the GSCA to GSCA clubmembers have been shipped and any questions with those orders need to be directed to the GSCA. Hence "For GSCA Clubmembers only".

    All,

John had not responded so I made a call to someone who I thought could provide some answers before this turned into a GSCA beatdown session. I know that Richard doesnt visit this site very often, and I didnt want this to be perceived as a lack of a response by the GSCA, so I called Richard Lasseter and got this information straight from him, I didnt make it up, nor did I pull it from thin air, nor do I have an agenda. I simply posted what I was told.

According to Richard Lasseter himself, the headers to non GSCA members that John Chamberlain accepted money for is a separate deal than the deal thru the GSCA for GSCA clubmembers. And since Richard may not be aware of any delivery committments John may or may not have made to his customers then Richard thinks it would be best if those people that dealt with John call John for any updates. But again, I never said they couldnt call the GSCA and Richard never said they couldnt call the GSCA. In fact, if anyone wants to call the GSCA then have at it, their number is posted above. If any of this is thought to be incorrect, or if I am not to be believed or trusted, then by all means call Richard and hear it for yourselves. I dont have a dog in this hunt nor do I care either way. :beers2:

I never knew that GSCA members would be served first. I thought we all got a fair shake as to when these were shipped out. Sure would have liked to known that from the get go.
