mine is a 72 custom convert, rebuilt 30 over 455, 2000 miles on it so far the body is almost rust free, as is the frame, fat man fab tubular A frames have had the car for about 5 years, was a tenn car. The car is a work in progress, slowly getting it the way it should be.I am retired and this keeps me busy and on the streets.

I've got a fairly straight 1966 Electra 225 drop-top, with a completely rebuilt drive train. This year I'm going to get the rag replaced, it looks like it might still be the original one and it's pretty much shot.

Just one question though; - are these cars supposed to be louder inside with the roof up than when it's down? There are an awfull lot of wind noises in mine, and at highway speeds the top flaps and roars like it wants to come apart...

A new, tighter top will be better, but these cars are are not very well sealed against rain or wind.

I kinda noticed that too; - any time that I drive in the rain I have to bring a towel; the old roof is stretched really tight (it must have shrunk) and the front seal between the windshield and the roof is no good. Nothing like cold rainwater in the lap to keep one awake...

Considering that these cars were the most expensive offerings in that year one would have thought that GM would have invested a few dollars to give it a better top.

I have a 1969. It started life as a Skylark Custom 350-2 in cameo yellow, and has gone through many changes over the past 12 years I've owned it.
It now has a 455 bored .030 over with a TA212 cam, TH350 with a custom shift kit, GM HEI distributer, 140amp alternator, Sony Xplod CD player with a 500 watt amp and 8 speakers.
Back in 1998 I was in an accident which destroyed my front end. A generous friend gave me a 68 special parts car which I used to rebuild it, which is why the front looks like a 68. I personally like the way it looks, so I've kept it that way.

1964 Wildcat ragtop with a 401 4 bbl (plus a 1999 Chrysler Sebring V-6 with cloth ragtop, for anyone who cares about non-Buicks). check out a new thread I started on "why" a ragtop, with all the rattles, drips, and whistling?

I really like Mike Trom's GS400. When I first met the woman who would later become my wife, she was driving a new '68 Skylark two door hardtop. I really did not like the car then, but today I would like to have it back. Since then, we have gone through a number of fun cars besides the trucks we drove to work everyday. First, a '72 Vette LT-1, then a '67 El Camino, a '57 T-bird, then we thought we would like to restore a '56 Nomad. We decided on a '57 Buick Caballero when all the Nomads we could afford were junk. So after a six year full body effort, the Caballero turned to be a beautiful effort. In 1992 we decided to do a 1957 Buick Convertible. After acquiring a restorable one in Sacramento, We begun a eighteen year project. With only minor redos left, we have finished the red 1957 Buick Roadmaster Convertible. Nice car !
Any trouble with ground clearance ? What type of headers do you use ? I have iron exhaust manifolids and would like to have headers, but i also like to have a lowered car.
What kind of converter are you using now ? Stallspeed ? I have almost the same engine combination in my other car 70gs stage1.
