Yes it is A-W. Worked on the crank support tonight, got it about half way machined up.

Is it possible to see some pic's of the A-W mounted in the car? I was wondering if it is under the dash or in the seat area. Chris

    Chris,
I don't have pics, that is is pic he sent me when I was buying the carb. If you want pics of A-W setups go to yellowbullet.com

Jeff: I ran 800 hp in my set up. It was a 494 stroker. Steel rods. Crank
was nitrided which I think helped. No issues ever. Ken

    John,
You don't have an 02 setup on your car? Thats the only way to know whats really going on. If you need one let me know, I'm a dealer for Innovate Motorsports (LM2)

I agree with Greg on this one. I just put a LC-1 on my car and found it was running 11.5 air/fuel ratio:shock: . Extra Fat. With two fours that's just a couple of jet sizes. Could have just as easily of had a lean spot on top!

I got the LC1 because i've developed my own system located in the radio location. Without this I would buy the LM2 to log spark, pressure, A/F and RPMs at a minimum.

    Jim:

What's the deal with getting a TA block? I put a post on another thread that Mike was on and never received a reply. Are they saved for the Buick "insiders," as I know I'm far from being one of those?

The first production run is out of the foundry, and in machining, last I heard.

Call TA and get the lastest info.

    Jeff,
I am right there with you buddy. I have a PT98 turbo that has been sitting in my closet for 3 years and I am tired of looking at it. I am also tired of race gas and nitrous bottle fills. All I need to do is sell my dominator and all my nitrous stuff and them I will have to use the turbo. I have stock block with main girdle, halo girdle and short fill. I will also run stock crank with BBC aluminum rods. I figure the motor will make 590 to 610 on 8.75:1 comp and with 10 lbs of boost I can get around 1000 on pump gas. What do you have to lose? New block and billet crank cost what my whole long block did.

Blair I think you will be surprised how well it holds up talked to John JR last night and they took the motor out of his car and said other than issues stemming from a blown head gasket which is tune up related they think it looks pretty good and I have checked out my block now for cracks and we were pushing 18 lbs. on the dyno with it and no issue there. build and you to shall be hauling some serious butt.

Bob are you using a stock block again? or still your Bullfrog block?

after breaking the aluminum block I went back to stock we took the iron bulldog block and put it in a pump gas pro-charged form and installed it in the regal. which we ran 8.24 @164 with at the last race and there is a little bit left there maybe we will see it next year.

My motor is a stock block we modified the to except a 401 nail head crank we built 5 4 bolt billet main caps and we run a TA gridle and a halo built buy us we were twisting it to 7000 rpm but it wanted to make to much boost and I did have the pulleys to lower it the smaller cubes kind of hurt us in that aspect. The cubes on it were just under 415 our peak HP and peak torque both happened were we stopped the pull. but we weren't wanting to toss the crank onto the floor with boost so we stopped.

Bob with I am guessing the shorter stroke did you put a real tall piston in there or an extra long rod to keep the side thrust down

3.480 stroke and and a 6.800 long rod. We used and off the shelf wiscoe protrue 455 piston. same as we are running in John JR.s car.

kinda the best of both tall piston =less rocking and a good long RS ratio

    Bobb,
How quick have you gone with the stock block, nailhead crank combo? How much boost. I have the reverse Procharger setup mocked up, will post pics soon. Looking for a new camera..

    Bobb,
what modifications were required to crank, block, and rods to use a 401 crank?

Block spacers and custom caps. Most likely main journals had to be widened.
