20th Buick Performance Weekend - Buick Performance Group Forum

Just a reminder guys that our 20th annual Buick Performance Weekend this Sept 5 & 6 will now be combined with Hemmings Musclepalooza at Englishtown. There are a few hotel rooms left in our block but they will only be held till August 21! PM me if you need the hotel info. Mike Mazzeo will be collecting a few dollars for police security for Saturday night.

As far as parking at the track. I have about 50 spots reserved for Buicks and that will be located against the fence where we usually had our show car tent set up in the past. Actually starting after the food court will be the pits for the FAST cars and then the Buicks. This area is just for Buicks racing. Buicks that are in the show will have to park where Hemmings tells them. I told them to try and keep the Buicks as close as possible to our area so we can hangout together. Any overflow Buicks racing will have to pit out by the fuel station near the Lake!

I suggest getting to the track early and get your spot! They are expecting over 600 show cars alone to this event! The front part of the pits are for the vendors and invited guests and the rest of the pits are for show cars and all the other racers will be pitting by the Lake or by the 1/8 mile pits!

Gates open Saturday at noon with test-n-tune all day and a burnout contest as well. They will have music and they are calling it a big cruise! FAST qualifying and some kind of grudge racing as well. Mufflers required for Saturday as everyone should know and strict NHRA rules!

Sunday gates open at 9 and the only Buick class will be Quick 16 with about $2500 up for grabs!. The Buicks that are not in the Quick 16 will fall into the 9 Hemmings bracket classes and they will run all the brand X cars. Make sure you don't pair up against a Buick in these classes so you don't knock a Buick out early! We will also be paying probably $50 to eack Buick that runs the furthest in each of the classes! You don't even have to win your class just be the Buick powered car to run the farthest in the class!

If you have any questions or suggestions let me know and I will also try and setup a drivers meeting Sunday to clarify the payouts.
Hope to see a nice strong Buick turnout and this way we can show Hemmings that we really do GO Fast with Class.

    Thanks for listening John Csordas

Bob Saturday is all racing from what it says on the web site. It's gotten bigger the last couple years. If the weather is good there should be a ton of cars there.

Sunday is the show and racing. If I had to choose one day, it would be sunday.

    I'll be there both days.:bglasses:

I was going to Musclepalooza, but didn't know the Buick show was still on, which is great news. Too bad E-Town failed to list it in their Season Schedule or post anything on the web site. Typical, BUICK gets no respect. Who is running the Buick, Olds, Pontiac performance event on their schedule for October 25th at E-town???

Don't know about Oct 25th but I will find out this weekend from the E-town personal.
