Hi Buick Enthusiasts from B.C., Alta., Pacific U.S. Northwest,

I have a tentative date for the All GM Picnic in July 2009. This event is organized by the B.C. Oldsmobile Club. This event will be the first of its' kind to be held on the Mainland. This show will replace their annual BOPC event. Last year, we had 15 Buicks out! For more info and pictures of 2008's show, check out the forum's " Buick Gathering at BOPC, Langley, B.C.." The first post on this show appeared May 15, 2008.
Like last year, the show will be held at Campbell Valley Regional Park in Langley. The car entrance fee will be $5.00. It will be held on Sunday, July 5th. I can already hear Doug F. groaning, as he has other holiday plans that weekend.
We had a great time last year, and the weather was absolutely beautiful. The park is a fine family-oriented location, as I'm not too fond of the ol' mall parking lot shows.
As I get more details of the Picnic, I will post the info and reminder on the forum.

    Take care,

    Nando.

Yup, the one weekend I'll be out of town this summer and that's the one! A real bummer too, as I would have brought the Electra and 2 one owner early 80's Pontiac Parisienne's to the show as well. I'll still pass the word around as I've met a few people recently who would be interested!

    Hi Doug,

Yah, just figures. What about the 14th Annual Sleepy Hollow Run in Sechelt on August 7-9? Or Rumble To The Rock in Squamish on September 20? Geri and I are booking our reservations, fairly shortly, for the Sechelt event. We had a lot of fun there last year - cruise, show, dinner, and drag racing!
If the weather is good this Sunday, I'm planning to drive the GN out to Maple Ridge. I'll be dropping by Joe H.'s, who's building a 1971 Skylark, with GSX-styling, and 455 transplant. Who bloody knows what to expect with the winter conditions we've had recently.
Cleaned up the GS, and plan to install the MT SS headers, once I receive the Hooker gaskets and collector dumps. Going to be making lots of noise with the new pipes, but may have to re-jet the Quadrajet to optomize any performance gain.
Didn't make any recent acquisitions, did you, Doug?

    Take care,

    Nando.

    Hi Nando,
I finally came up with a name to join in. Do you like it?

    Hi Joe and family,

Welcome to the forum! Love your handle... no, not your love handle. Hope I can meet with you this Sunday. I'll phone Saturday to confirm, and get directions. Will look up those GM #s for those cross bar reinforcements. Try this forum for other parts you're in need of. Will see if I can round up a ww pump and wiper motor. I'm sure any A-body GMs, of the same year, will swap in.

    Talk soon,

    Nando.

Nando... if they guy wanted to sell it, it would be in my garage already. I don't think he really wants to sell, but we'll see. :Do No:

I'm talking to the wife about the Sechelt weekend, and I'll go to Squamish if the weather holds for sure. This is going to be a thin year for me as I won't be able to attend the two shows I like to try and attend, this one and the BCA show in Puyallup which this year falls on my wifes birthday.

    Take care,

    Hi Doug,

If I'm in town on Sunday, do you want to join Geri and I for a coffee. This may be after, or before visiting Joe in Maple Ridge. Hold it, doesn't Harvey E. live out that way? How 'bout a mini-caravan to M.P., if you can keep up to Geri driving the GN?
Let me know if you need any Buick reading material... I've got plenty.

    Talk later,

    Nando.

    Nando;
I won't be able to make it out to Maple Ridge on Sunday but might be in for a coffee... depends on what the family is up to, why don't you give me a call if you're going to stop in Vancouver on your way. Harvey does live out that way, you should try and call him. Talk to you soon!

    Hi Doug,

It's not looking too hopeful for good weather on Sunday, and I was only planning to head into town with the GN. So, like the Space Shuttle Launch, I may have to abort the trip. Will let you know on Saturday. Joe H. has forwarded me a need list for his restoration project, and I hope to help source out some parts for his '71, before meeting with him.

    Take care,

    Nando.

    Hi Nando,
The weather for Sunday is not looking good. If you don't want to bring the GN you are still welcome in the wagon. As long as it says BUICK it's allowed in the driveway. I have been working on the 71 when ever I get a chance and have accomplished quite a bit lately. I have lots of questions for you. And I'll have a pot of coffee on. And if you're lucky you may even get fed....

    Joe

    Hi Joe,

I'll confirm with you tonight with a phone call. If Geri and I come out I'll bring the photo albums, newsletters, and parts catalog. I'll show you a few sources, I have, to get some of those NOS parts.

    Take care,

    Nando.

Just a reminder to anyone crossing the USA / Canadian border to attend a car show...

Get your Passport or Passcard now... it takes a couple of months to get and will be required as of June 1st 2009 to cross the border.

    Hi Joe,

Thanks for the gracious offer! Too bad about the shightey weather this weekend. Let's try for next weekend. Have e-mailed you some info re: parts. Keep those photos of your '71 coming. It looks like it would put my GS to shame. I'll have to remind myself... my Buick hasn't been restored.

    Take care,

    Nando.

Hi guys, Looks like I'm going to try and fit this into the schedule and make it down, should work great since it will only require getting the Sunday off. The local show here in Penticton is the Peach City Beach Cruise happening June 26-28. Would be great to see some Buick's out, i remember a couple of GN's in past years.

    Hi Randy,

Thanks for posting some teaser pics. How many Buick historians, out there, knew that some " Wildcats " were available in an all-aluminum shell.
Hope you can make the trip up!

    Take care,

    Nando.

    Hi Brett,

Unfortunately, I work that weekend, so I won't be able to make it to Penticton. I usually travel to Falkland at least twice a year, so it would be nice to meet with you next time I'm up. I was in Falkland this past April.
If you do plan to come to the All GM Picnic, please let us know on the forum. If there's something you're in need of for your Centurion, it's possible one of the local members, attending the show, may have the parts you need.

    See you,

    Nando.

Sounds like a fun event. I'm going to be visiting family in Tacoma WA. in july minus my Buick but one of my Sons has my Dads 70 Skylark. He doesn't have a passport though so I don't know if he can cross back into the U.S. without it? I will check into it and try to come to the show.:TU: :beers2:

    Hi Bob,

It would certainly be nice to have you and your family up for the meet. If you do come, how about bringing your photo album. I think a '53 rodded up with a healthy big block is my cup of tea.

    Take care,

    Nando.
