    Hey Craig,

Can you post a picture of the kit when you get it? I'm not ready for it yet, but am interested in the full parts list.

    Thanks,

Hmm, when did they start including the driver? I didn't get one in my kit and I got mine two weeks ago. Was it an extra cost item or did you just order the kit?

I too used the Jeep box. The Lee adapter kit looks to be a nice way to do it too. I used different hoses and pump and was able to use the factory metric fittings.

It was a kit, but they added and charged an extra $4 or $5 dollars for the driver. Have you installed yours yet, how tight were these fittings?

do you guys know how much it is just for the pressure fitting?

I swapped the box on and I wound up using the G body rag joint and about half of that steering rod.

So now My pump is leaking really bad, of course, I have an extra original 1967 one that I took apart.

I got the gasket kit from pskits.com....that looks good, just wondering if the pressure valve is worth it, how much it is...

These boxes are available at any parts store reman for about 120 bucks. I've bought and installed a few. The F41 boxes carry a separate part number, and are the correct 2.25 turns lock to lock. I've had great luck.

I priced one at a Chevy dealer a couple months back. It was close to 40 bucks!

In Hemmings they gave refrences to a new 600 saginaw box that bolts in. The article was on a Chevelle. I know it is more$$$ but it bolts in.

Well last night after struggling with the pitman arm I turned the steering box over only to find I had broken the over-cover. Maybe this not the place to ask but does anyone have a cover they could sell and ship me?

The cover is threaded onto the center stud, and I believe almost all years have basically have the same cover. PLEASE HELP! Thanks.

    Craig,

Your thread inspired me to change out my box which had a lot of play in it.
I went to Oreilly's on thursday morning and they had ordered a 95 jeep grand Cherokee Z code reman steering box for 140 bucks, It bolted right in
" for once something bolted right in  ".
They also had a new pwr steering pump also but no canister so you would have to use your old one.

All I can say is wow :beer it steers nice an tight no more loose steering and all my hoses were due for a change also. I took all the steering brackets off and the canister after I took off the old pump and took a wire wheel and cleand off all the old paint and some minor rust spots, Cleaned the really good and put 2 fresh coats of high temp paint on all the parts it look brand new.

    Good luck with yours,

    Matt

Do you have a parts number for it? Was the pitman arm angle (sweep) the same as the old box? What other hose fitting were necessary, and did you have to get another coupling to make the shaft fit?

Id like to know the same thing.
Can you list all the parts you used?
    - steering box?
    - hoses?
    - fittings?

Did you change the hoses? How did the metric vs non metric work out?
Did you have to change the rag joint?

The sweep I believe was 83 deg. and was said to be a box from an `85 Monte Carlo SS. I tried an IROC box as well but it had less sweep with only 78 deg.

You can not always go by turnes lock to lock while installed in the car, out of the car will likely be more. One example I have ... with the `88 IROC box it was two turns lock to lock in the car but 2.75 lock to lock out of the car. Some of the sweep was lost due to stops (internal or external).

    I used the following parts
parts for conversion. these are from parts america/checker/advance auto.
You still need to figure out the adapters for the fittings I didn't have this problem because i've swapped in a 87GN pump and used the GN's hoses and they have the correct ends.

steering coupling dorman 31011 a HELP part. $65 bucks
steering box LARES 1353 reman $143 with a $35 core
you will still need the adapters from metric to old gm fittings

I went to my auto parts store " Oreilly's" and told them I need a 95 jeep grand Cherokee gear box " Z code " and the powers steering pump with the canister, They said pump only no canister .

I got the pump and Z code gear box that afternoon and the gear box bolted right in so did the pump. I used the old pitman arm, I did not order the parts like CRAY1801 did in post # 23 http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=165394 Which is the way to go if you want to use your old hoses.
My hoses were shot so I went to the local power steering shop and he had a high pressure hose that accepted a compression coupler which you just cut off your hose ends and slide them in the coupler and your done on the high pressure side, For the return side order the jeep return line it will have the O- ring fitting on it and you just bend to fit and a hose clamp..
If you want to use your old hoses then you must order the kit from LEE'S.
The jeep gear box hoses are O-ring end and the buick ends are like a cone shape so you need the adapters from lee's. But if your impatient like me find a shop and cut and fit the 2 different ends

    1. No Part # :ball: just tell them you want a 95 jeep grand Cherokee gear box
    Z code.

2.pitman arm angle (sweep) the was the same as the old box.

3.Hose fitting for old hoses you need a Lee kit, Hose fitting like mine find a shop who has the compression fittings I will try to post a pic of the fitting later.

4.My old rag joint did not fit on the new gear box, You would need a rag joint from one of theses cars.
