Engine,

Have tried to keep it as stock looking as possible. This is just to make it hurt more after you punish someone in a street race :3gears: . You then you lift the hood and tell them it is stock and they see this :Dou: ..... haha.. I took a drop base air cleaner bottom and welded it to the bottom of a factory air cleaner. You can's see it but their is a 1000 Demon hiding under there.

Hey Thanks Bill, it has been a long road to getting Her this far.

A little more fine tuning and she will be where I want Her to be. Wish she could run like yours!

<FONT color=#0000fa>The last post on this thread was October. 05. Since I have just landed one of these "Beasts", I thought I would revive it. So, here goes :Comp:
<FONT]<FONT size="3"><?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comhttp://www.v8buick.com/ /><o:p></o:p>
<font size=" /><o:p></o:p>

Here’s the car:<o:p></o:p>
(Pictures removed 11/21/08)
As Paul Harvey says:<o:p></o:p>
“Here’s the Rest of the Story:”<o:p></o:p>
I saw this car (along with a bunch of GS parts) on e-Bay last month for $1199 just 20 minutes from my house. I e-mailed the seller to arrange an inspection and to get his phone number. He e-mailed back and said that he was too busy and if the car didn’t sell in the auction he’d contact me (and I got no phone number). After the auction the buyer didn’t pay him and so he e-mailed me to say that it was still available (and left me his personal e-mail & phone number). Unfortunately I was out of town and didn’t see his e-mail until a week later at which time I called. His wife wouldn’t put him on the phone and simply said “Thank you; it’s been sold.”<o:p></o:p>
About a week after that I was “surfing” e-bay and noticed a pair of Buick bucket seats that looked familiar. When I looked at the sellers other items I discovered that all the GS items that came with the car had been sold (to the tune of about $2400). So I e-mailed the seller (Nigel) to ask if the wagon was still available and of course it was (minus the GS hood and all the other GS stuff). Nigel said that he had intended to part it out but if I wanted to buy the whole car he would sell it to me for $800 (an amount he thought the drive-train was worth). Unfortunately, he had almost sold the tailgate and had sold the tail-lights but a regular (non-GS) hood was still with the car. It has “rust issues” but my Mantra has always been “Beaters are Better”.<o:p></o:p>
(BTW: I could use another dual-action tailgate; this one is a little too “holey”. Any mid 70’s GM A-body wagon will work. The one at Cofers in ,<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com[IMG]http://www.v8buick.com/ /><st1:place><st1:City><SPAN style=Bradenton</SPAN></st1:City><font color=" /><st1:State><FONT color=#333333>FL</st1:State><FONT color=#333333> (Vista Cruiser) was just too rough and now has been crushed.)<FONT color=black><o:p></o:p>
<FONT size=3><FONT face=Arial><FONT size=3><FONT face=Arial><FONT size=3><FONT face=Arial><FONT face=Arial><FONT face=Arial><FONT size=3><FONT color=#333333>So the old cliché <FONT color=blue>“you snooze, you loose”<FONT color=#333333> comes to mind. I guess I could be sad because I coulda had the wagon for free (after selling all the GS stuff) or I coulda had a nice GS clone wagon. But I’m happy that I got a Sportwagon (finally) with all new Poly-Graphite suspension and a 455 all for $800. In the end it’s still a good day.<FONT color=black><o:p></o:p>
<FONT size=3><FONT face=Arial><FONT size=3><FONT face=Arial><FONT size=3><FONT face=Arial><FONT face=Arial><FONT size=3><FONT color=#333333>And yes this is a keeper.<FONT color=black><o:p></o:p>
<FONT size=3><FONT face=Arial><FONT size=3><FONT face=Arial><FONT size=3><FONT face=Arial><FONT face=Arial><FONT size=3><FONT color=#333333>However, if I ever see a bunch of GS stuff for sale on eBay for about $1000 next time I won’t be “Snoozin”! ! ! I had no idea that parts had gotten so expensive. Just yesterday I saw, on this website, a GS hood covered with surface rust without grill inserts advertised for $1000. <FONT color=red>$1000!!!!!<FONT color=#333333> I’d have been happy to get <FONT color=blue>$100<FONT color=#333333> for it and if I saw it in a junkyard I woulda walked right past it! <FONT color=#ff6600>(No offense to the person who posted it.)<FONT color=#333333> Obviously, I’d better get up to date on the <FONT color=red>value<FONT color=#333333> of parts.<FONT color=black><o:p></o:p>

Hey Jeff,
Have that wagon finished by the time I'm in Pt. Charlotte again!

Sportwagon in winter slumber hoping it might stop snowing soon. Factory 315 horse 350 car with 3:23 posi and a rallye steering wheel. I had to add disc brakes and power steering however as the 3rd stop could kill you.

I could jump in it and drive it across the country no problem. Well, except at 11mpg there would be a wallet problem.

I love Sportwagons!

Hey Mick,
I didn't think anyone in Australia had ever heard of Port Charlotte much less been here!
Next time you're in town give me a shout and we can go terrorizing the neighborhood in the Beast.

G'day
Jeff

Hi Chris,
Good to see that you use your cars as storage shelves, too. Mine's a Beater, too. It has holes in the doors that I could put my thumb into, but the 455 makes it all worthwhile.

I need some info from a fellow wagon owner. My wagon came without tail-lights. George N. sold me some he had but they came without bolts / screws and I dont know what to use to attach them. Could you look at yours and let me know how they attach.
I know that its still cold up there and your wagon is "asleep" but I sure could use the info.
BTW: We had a cold spell down here last Tues. It only got up to 68. Minneapolis was 1 degree warmer @69.
Thanks for any help.

G'day to you! I met a guy in '88 through scouts from the US and stayed in touch ever since. He's in Maine now, but when I visit I'll see his folks and sister in Pt. Charlotte.
Let's see how small the world really is, they're in Salina Ave.
Been to Gators? :beers2:

I have a couple of sets of sporty lights, I will check to see if I was smart enough to save the fasteners. I will try to pull a lense tonight and see how they are attached.
