    Default Stage 1 emblem holes ?

    I put Stage 1 emblems on my 70 GS 455, 27 years ago, useing emblem adhisive. I ordered new 455 emblems and removed the Stage 1 emblems already, DO THEY USE THE SAME HOLES? Just woundering if im going to have to do some minor pluging and or touch up painting, before i install the 455 emblems.

    70 GS 455, 4 Speed, Kiesler RS600 5 speed manual.
    462 cu. in.,76 block,70 ported S1 heads, 11 to 1 compression.
    113A cam, SP1 intake, 800 Q jet.
    1 7/8 headers, 2 1/2 MB exhaust.
    8.5 BOP 3.73's, stock thurmal clutch fan.
    Robmc 550 fuel pump,1/2 Stainless steel fuel line.
    12.33@110MPH 1.70 60 ft.

    Pretty sure they do...just line new emblem pins to the holes and check fit.

    kelly-I'm restoring a 70 stage 1 gsx 4 speed and I would like to put the rs 600 5 speed in but I do not want to cut the floor . how did it fit in your car? Did it line up with the shifter hole? thanks for the info Tim Garland

    it is suppose to, i did a auto to manual convertion, i only cut for the shifter, check out my thread under U shift um.

    If your fenders are original non-Stage 455 fenders you are close. The original "455" had no pin behind the 4, and a thin bar between the 4 and the first 5, and they often broke there. I saw many "GS 55"s in the 80s. Newer NOS 455 emblems have a pin behind the 4, and a larger bar between the 4 and the 5, and GM added a little locating pin behind the additional material. So, if you have newer emblems you will need to drill a hole for the pin behind the 4, and may need to either 1) drill another hole for the pin between the 4 and 5, or 2) grind off the pin, or 3) cut out the bottom part of the bar between the 4 and 5 to look original and get rid of the additional pin. (This is what I did.)
