Default Buick Engine Builders in Indiana?

Hello, in process of rebuilding my 455 to go back into my Riv. I have built engines in the past, but only chevys. Just wanting to know if there are any experienced 455 builders in Indiana that I would be able to have them build my motor for me? Just trying to protect my investment.

What John above said. You are probably only a couple hours or so away if you live in Columbus IN.

You could contact Dahabey Racing Engines in Fort Wayne, IN. They build and race Buicks

Well if thats the case I might try Dahabey since they are in Indiana. Mainly I just want it done right the first time, so that 100 miles or so later i'm not pulling it out to rebuild it cause it spun a bearing and etc. As for Mike Evans were exactly are you located? I am trying to conserve cost by not having to drive or ship the block far away so the closer would be better. I just want to make sure that whoever puts the engine together knows Buicks and not just some Chevy guy like myself trying to go about it. I may be a little too extreme, but I have read stories upon stories about the engines being put together to chevy specs and causing all sorts of problems. Just trying to protect my investment. Thanks everyone!

I am about 17 miles from Indiana, just south of Louisville.

Even some of my relatives live there.

Building Buick engines is not the problem, it is getting a flat tapet cam to live with the oils they are selling now.

I have pounded on mine for two years now and it is still living (see U-tube link).

Thanks Mike , I might consider it. Right now I still am having the block machined and the heads redone so it will be a while till it is ready to go back together. I shall keep you posted if I decide to go that route thanks!

Tore that 40-year-old drive shaft in two at 5100 RPMs. That made a noise.

The dyno guy was really lucky that it came out the other side.

FRED CATLIN in Lesibeth Town,Indiana. Reported to be the best in the world on engine work, he is the guy that worked with Kenne Bell back in the day, working on experimental Kenne Bell parts for Buick.
