    Default New '85 LeSabre

Hello everyone. My name is Dan, I'm new here. My Grandma decided to give me her old '85 Buick, so here I am. I have not yet picked up the car, but needless to say, I am very excited to do so. It's an '85 LeSabre with the bullet proof 307 Olds engine. It's got power everything, AC, vinyl top, and less than 90k on the odo. I am looking to tune it up and give it some Dan touch, like a chrome air-cleaner and glasspacks. Anyways, I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello. You'll probably see me on here shortly seeking some tech advice/info. Any comments, shoot.

    Dan:

Here's some useful info about that Olds 307 engine:

No matter what someone else tells you the Olds 307 can be a good performer and you don't need to swap in a 350 to be fast even though a 350 will get you power easier, a 307 can be fast also, though it is and will never be a wheelie poping 10 second strip runner it can be a good street engine and mild strip racer with a broad powerband and enough power to win some red light grand prixs and surprise the unexpecting red light racer with the right work, very little money and some time.

Haha, all it takes is money, which is something I don't have enough of for something like that. I plan on doing some small upgrades to the powertrain and keeping the 307 which should last me over 300k which is very attractive. It'll be a daily driver.
