I just watched and episode where they did over a 62 Impala and the guy seemed so surprised....how surprised will he be when he gets the bill??
How does that whole show work and who's lucky enough to fund these quicky restorations ?
note: NOT thinking about it for the GS, just a tad curious.....
I have no idea on how you get your car ont he show, but I know how it is paid for. Basically it is all "Comp"ed meaning that bob's brakes will give you and install the brake pads and rotors and what ever for free, and you mention the company a couple of times. You'll notice in the show they never say "and we installed a new motors" It's always A " Crate motor form the guys who know at ...." And "Jimmy from Jimmy's sound is doing what he does best, installing a 10000 watt sub woofer" Basically the whole show is built to advertise parts, products, and businesses.
Own a Buick with a chivvy in it. Fat chance they'd ever re-do a Buick motor. That episode chapped my :moonu:Quote:

That "pimp my ride" is just horrible. They only did 2 or 3 things that were nice and made any sense. The kid with the Ford Escort that was two cars welded into one they give him a new car thats great. And the girl with the Mustang in her family they made that car look normal. I saw some of last weeks eppy, and this kid had a 1963 Ford Fairlane they gave him a new toyota 4 runner and pimped it out. It just shows me that they don't know how to "pimp" a car from the 60's.

if the owner of the car has to sign a release of liabilty then how can it be a suprise? :Do No: i have always suspected that the suprise portion of the show was fake.
i keep wondering how they can go from 1st coat of printer to last coats of clear in such a short time !!
