Hopefully these guys can work it out without calling the principal, but in reality I think somebody has done WAY more explaining than necessary. I think everybody got the picture before it was developed and I would have absolutely no issue buying from this seller, even though I never have.

Good job, Tom. We should all try to help each other and that is what I normally observe here.

If it is not resolved, this seems like the perfect time to revisit things. What do you have to lose?

I agree completely. The fact that the transaction took place before either was a member here is not relevant. You are both members now and our general membership should know if there is a seller here that may not be as ethical as we'd like. Judgement reserved of course, as we all sometimes need a wider perspective and input as to the right/wrong of a deal gone sour.

Tom, nicely stated. Problem is, all this chatter back and forth has a header of Ziggy? don't...etc. Too bad, damaged is probably done!

I would ask a moderator to delete this thread immediately as it is without merit.

I disagree. Anyone that takes 10 minutes to read a couple pages will be able to paint a pretty clear picture. If Ziggy was in the wrong, would the mods delete the thread, or leave it up? I think Ziggy's response proves that he's a stand up guy, and I wouldn't hesitate to do business with him.

I have seen on other forums where people will refuse to read the thread, and then post a bunch of nonsense, based on the thread title alone. I haven't seen much of that on this forum, and I have read A lot here. Are we as a group worried about the opinion of the guys that won't read a thread, or do a little bit of research on a member, before buying or selling?

Well...I really don't like to get involved in stuff like this. I don't know Tom at all. I have done biz' with Scott, and I remember it didn't go well. I mean who would forget their V8 ID a year or 2 from now? He owns and wheels and deals with 67 GRAN SPORT parts, but forgot his ID? And...after a number of bad dealings here, he comes back as "newguy", yeah...the "newguy", the guy everybody wants to help. Exhibit A
Here are 2 with the emblems in the chrome parts and one very nice chrome. One of the emblems has no studs on it but the chrome surround part does have all of the studs. Maybe you can take the plastic part out and inert it into the good chrome bezel. All of the chrome parts are above average and near perfect. One plastic part that has no studs on it does have a small chip in it. all 3 for $300.00 or best offer. No internet so please call me at 920-664-3339

Less than a year ago, Scott posted this here. He was SELLING then, the same items he's buying now. Honestly, I kind of hate re-sellers. Sure, I do it sometimes, everybody does, it's really reselling and gouging that gets on my nerves. I've been screwed by a few people here, too...in different ways. I would feel comfortable challenging ANYBODY here to say I screwed them in any way. I have a saying..."When you suck, you suck!!!" He says he doesn't need this site, but he came back, didn't he? Ugh...

    FWIW.

New to this site, but not new to the world.

If I may offer my 2 cents, it is that this thread makes clear who has integrity and who does not have that quality.

Leaving the thread shows that the good people on this forum will not allow shenanigans, and when dealt with firmly and honestly can allow for people to right a wrong or be shown the exit ramp.

    This serves good purpose.

As for the "title" causing any issue, again, those who read and heed, will have no trouble seeing clearly, adn those who do not, are likely to be the type one would not wish to transact with in the first place.

Sort of like our beloved Buicks fixing themselves while we sleep. Maybe...

The more I see here, the more I like being welcome here.

The reason that you change your name on this Forum is that you forgot the old name strikes me as kind of dishonest??? People only change their name when there is something to hide from. Ziggy strikes me as an honest guy and I would buy parts from him.. Those are my opinions

We all have 'issues' from time to time. Most are simple misunderstandings, and are easily resolved.
I have and would again, send my $$ to Ziggy without reservations. Period. Ziggy is a true Buick Enthusiast, honest and forthright.
I've dealt with Scott 67 GranD Sport in the distant past, and just cant say the same thing.
    SO there ya go.

Trust in other members is one of the reasons this forum is such a great place to do business. It's not craigslist, it's not ebay, here we have a fair set of rules and a large majority of members who adhere to the rules without question. Any negative feedback post is sure to get the attention of members, but like Mike mentioned, we are not a group to judge something by the thread title. This should be a lesson that making an effort to resolve an issue man to man is a much smarter way to settle a dispute than to immediately resort to making a public complaint or reporting to a mod. There aren't too many of us Buick guys out there, a little bit of courtesy and integrity like Ziggy has shown can go a long way towards turning a sour situation into a pleasant experience. When things don't seem right maybe a phone call is in order. These days where most communication is done by text or email, a misunderstanding could happen easily.

Ok; we have a bit of an unusual situation here... Today I received my green horn button from Scott Scheffen (aka newguy, aka 67 grand sport).
This is ten days (with a MAJOR holiday in there) after he posted that HE WOULD send it with my address, but four years and change after the initial deal...

I can understand his situation from several years ago. He DID have a series of unfortunate PERSONAL circumstances, that I was able to verify back then. The website itself WAS having some difficulties also. I myself have forgotten passwords on several sites that I don't frequent, and had most of them set to automatically remember my password when I signed on. (I have to have JW send me a new password after the corruption several years ago; Perhaps this IS what happened to Scott, as he claims he was unable to log in under his old name; I don't know.) I had my computer crash HARD, and had to use public access (library) for a while; fortunately my 'log-in' is my name (DUH).

I'm not making any blame, nor am I giving credit; Just stating MY opinion. Scott did finally come through for me. I have never had any dealings with Ziggy, but based on feedback here, I don't think I'd have any problems.

This does NOT have any bearing on the issues between newguy (Scott Scheffen) and Ziggy (Tom Zickeffoose). I just hope it can be resolved amicably.

Umm, members here can't actually change the title of their threads, that's a mod/admin function only. I imagine JW read this topic and made the change.

Well in that case, I'll retract my previous comment and delete my post.
    Thanks for clarifying.

Just got some brake drums from Ziggy......they look better than described, were packaged great, and shipped in a timely fashion. I would do business with Ziggy again in a heartbeat. Anybody noticing a pattern on this thread?
